Rectify unsafe construction on roads

The Department of Construction has just issued a document requesting relevant units to urgently remedy traffic safety issues on roads under construction under component project 3, Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway (phase 1) and related projects.

According to local residents, the simultaneous construction and exploitation of the project has caused many residential roads around the project area to deteriorate, become dusty, and pose a potential risk of traffic accidents. Residents encounter many difficulties when traveling through this area, especially near the overpass.

The Department of Construction requires the Regional Traffic Project Management Board and the Agriculture Department to strictly implement the commitments when being granted construction permits, ensuring traffic safety measures, environmental sanitation, reasonable traffic organization, repairing damaged road surfaces and arranging forces to regulate at construction sites. Contractors and supervision consultants must promptly overcome the above shortcomings.

For projects invested by the Board and Phu My City, the Department of Construction requires compliance with regulations on construction organization on roads in operation. Before implementing overpass projects intersecting with the expressway, units must agree on traffic safety measures with the Regional Traffic Project Management Board.
