According to Dak Lak Newspaper reporters on the afternoon of June 5, dozens of small traders at the market, mainly selling clothes, were busy cleaning up their goods and closing their kiosks.
Mr. Tr.T., a clothing vendor, said that this situation started yesterday afternoon (June 4) when vendors in the market heard that the authorities would conduct an inspection of the origin and invoices of the goods.
Due to fear of being inspected, many small businesses have closed and stopped selling.
“Small traders like me who sell clothes at the market are mostly small businesses and pay taxes every year in full as required. However, most of the goods have been imported from wholesale markets in Ho Chi Minh City and do not have invoices or documents, so when we heard that there was an inspection team to check the origin of the goods, we were very scared. By this afternoon, about 80% of the clothing stalls at the market had closed,” said Mr. T.

Sharing the same anxiety, since the morning of June 5, Ms. TTHO has also closed her two clothing stalls. Ms. O. said that for now, she will close the stalls to wait for more information. At the same time, she hopes that the authorities will increase propaganda and explain to the people in the market about the new policies and regulations of the State related to taxes, invoices, etc. As well as guide the traders to gradually complete all necessary procedures so that they can confidently resume trading.
