Urging contractors to construct the project to renovate and upgrade 4 inner-city roads

On July 5, Da Nang recorded a rain lasting about 1 hour, starting from 6pm to 7pm, causing a series of central roads such as Ham Nghi, Nguyen Van Linh, Le Duan, Hai Phong, Ton Duc Thang... to be flooded 0.3-0.5m, making traffic difficult. This is a common situation when there is heavy rain.

Therefore, investing in projects to renovate and upgrade inner-city roads is a central task, invested in and implemented by the city. In particular, the project to renovate the drainage system and bury information cables and lighting on four inner-city roads including Phan Chau Trinh, Le Loi, Hoang Dieu and Ong Ich Khiem is being accelerated by contractors and construction units, striving to complete before the assigned schedule. Mr. Doan Khac Vien, Deputy Commander of Dacinco Company, the joint venture unit implementing the project, said that the unit mobilized 5 construction teams and dozens of machines, equipment, engineers and workers to work day and night.

It was recorded that on July 7 and 8, each day on Hoang Dieu and Ong Ich Khiem streets, there were about 20 construction teams with dozens of machines, equipment, vehicles and more than 150 engineers and workers simultaneously constructing items such as: underground laying of power cables, lighting cables, information cables, television cables; construction of drainage systems; restoration of roadbeds, installation of additional fire hydrants, curbs and resurfacing of sidewalks with natural granite, as well as upgrading reinforced asphalt concrete on the roads.

According to engineer Dang Quoc Hung, Hanoi Water Construction Joint Stock Company, Deputy Commander of Hoang Dieu Road Project (joint venture executing the project), because this project is being constructed on two roads in the city center, where traffic density is high, and where people are busy trading and doing business, there are many difficulties and obstacles during the construction process.

Deputy Director of the Management Board of Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects in Da Nang Nguyen Duc Nam (the project investor) said that despite frequent rains, the contractor and construction unit are working hard to complete the project with the goal of completing the plan as soon as possible. This is a project to develop the urban landscape, ensure drainage capacity, meet the needs of tourism and economic development; at the same time, improve the quality of traffic infrastructure in the central area of Da Nang.

Therefore, the Management Board of Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects in Da Nang has directed contractors to apply the rolling construction method, completing Hoang Dieu Street and Ong Ich Khiem Street first (expected to be completed by the end of December 2025) and then continuing to construct the remaining two streets, Le Loi and Phan Chau Trinh (expected to be completed in 2026). In the coming time, the board will strengthen supervision, coordination, and urge contractors to continue to speed up the construction progress with the determination to complete construction and handover, put into operation to ensure the set plan...

Currently, there are 4 projects to renovate and upgrade inner-city roads under construction and expected to be completed in 2025. These are the project to renovate the drainage system and lay underground information cables and lighting on Hung Vuong and Ly Thai To streets; the project to renovate and upgrade inner-city roads in Son Tra district; the project to renovate and upgrade inner-city roads in Hai Chau and Lien Chieu areas; and the project to renovate the drainage system and lay underground information cables and lighting on four inner-city roads: Phan Chau Trinh, Le Loi, Hoang Dieu and Ong Ich Khiem.
