Under the management of Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Nice is experiencing one of the worst starts in the club's history.

French football is entering its mid-season break, but internal turmoil is brewing at Nice FC. According to L'Équipe , Nice has just sacked coach Franck Haise. This decision comes after an incredible crisis for the team, with a run of nine consecutive defeats (a club record) from the end of October to mid-December.

Nice's losing streak was only recently ended after their victory against lower-division side AS Saint-Étienne in the French Cup. However, Nice is still in a poor position in other competitions. They sit 13th in Ligue 1 and are bottom of their Europa League group.

Nice's 2025/2026 season saw a significant decline, accompanied by internal tensions and incidents between the management and fans. Many Nice fans criticized the management style of billionaire Ratcliffe and INEOS.

On the Allianz Riviera stands and social media forums, hundreds of fans collectively criticized the club's management, especially billionaire Ratcliffe. Many banners were displayed with the message: "Ratcliffe and INEOS should leave."

Nice reached the quarter-finals of the Conference League in the 2021/22 season under Christophe Galtier, but since then, the team has only failed in European competitions under various managers.

After sacking coach Haise, Nice chose Claude Puel as his successor. This change comes amidst significant recent changes in Nice's leadership, with the return of Jean-Pierre Rivère and Maurice Cohen. This is seen as a decisive move by billionaire Ratcliffe and INEOS to salvage the situation.
