TPO - ACV and a consortium of contractors are urgently constructing the runway of Long Thanh airport, completing the project 3 months ahead of schedule.

After more than 6 months of starting construction of package 4.6 - construction and installation of equipment for the runway, taxiway, and apron of Long Thanh International Airport, the runway has now taken shape.

Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) and the consortium of contractors are speeding up progress and are determined to complete the project before April 30, 2025, 3 months ahead of schedule.

Long Thanh airport's runway is 4,000m long and 70m wide and can accommodate the most advanced aircraft today.

ACV has directed the joint venture contractor to mobilize more than 350 machines and equipment along with nearly 1,500 engineers and workers to make the most of the weather and vigorously carry out the construction.

Up to now, the construction of the runway is following the schedule, basically completing the ground and sand foundation items; the crushed stone layer is over 70% completed.

According to the runway design, in addition to compacting the roadbed, this is the first concrete layer 38cm thick, the runway will be poured with a second concrete layer 40cm thick.
