The cut-off scores for admission (round 1) to 10th grade in specialized and non-specialized high schools were announced by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training on July 4th, the same day students learned their exam results.
Candidates who were admitted in the first round to the universities completed the enrollment confirmation procedures between July 10th and July 12th.
Based on the number of students who have confirmed their enrollment at each high school and the number of students still needed to meet the target, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training will hold a meeting with the schools to review and approve the supplementary admission cutoff scores (round 2).
The supplementary admission cut-off scores are as follows:
| School name | First round cutoff scores | Additional benchmark scores | |
| 1 | Quang Oai High School | 17.5 | 17.25 |
| 2 | Yen Hoa High School | 25 | 24.5 |
| 3 | Tan Lap High School | 16.75 | 16.5 |
| 4 | My Duc C High School | 12.5 | 12 |
| 5 | Phuc Tho High School | 16 | 15.25 |
| 6 | Kim Anh High School | 17 | 16.75 |
| 7 | Tung Thien High School | 20.5 | 18.25 |
| 8 | Xuan Khanh High School | 13 | 12 |
When lowering the admission cutoff score, the school is allowed to admit students who were first, second, and third choice applicants and meet the eligibility criteria for supplementary admission. Students admitted through supplementary admission under their second choice must have an admission score at least 1.0 point higher than the school's supplementary admission cutoff score; students admitted through supplementary admission under their third choice must have an admission score at least 2.0 points higher than the school's supplementary admission cutoff score.
Time: From 8:00 AM on July 19, 2025 to 5:00 PM on July 22, 2025. Admission for students who passed the supplementary admission criteria will be conducted in person at high schools (during office hours).
The Department of Education and Training also announced that two schools, Minh Quang High School and Phuc Loi High School, are allowed to enroll students beyond their designated catchment area.
Minh Quang High School is conducting supplementary admissions citywide for students who meet the eligibility criteria but were not admitted to their registered preferences and have an admission score of 12.00 points or higher (remaining vacancies: 63 students).
Phuc Loi High School is conducting supplementary admissions for students citywide who meet the eligibility criteria but were not accepted into their registered preferences.
In addition, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training has allocated enrollment quotas of 450 students each to the two newly established high schools, Do Muoi High School and Phuc Thinh High School. These schools are allowed to recruit students from across the city who meet the eligibility criteria but were not admitted to their registered preferences and have an admission score of 12 points or higher.
Students must meet the admission requirements but not be admitted to their registered preferences before they can apply to one of the four schools: Minh Quang High School, Phuc Loi High School, Phuc Thinh High School, or Do Muoi High School. The system allows students to change their registered preferences before 24:00 on July 22, 2025.
