Two years ago in Thailand, the quartet Huyen, Ngoc, Hang, and Hanh excellently brought home the gold medal for Vietnamese athletics in the women's 4x400m relay at the Asian Athletics Championships, to the admiration of friends and opponents.

After 2 years, champion Nguyen Thi Huyen has now retired, but the relay team of the Vietnamese team has the return of the mainstay Quach Thi Lan. That is the reason why the coaching board of the Vietnamese athletics team hopes that this team will defend the championship and maintain its position...

On the evening of May 29, Gumi City was hit by heavy rain and the 2025 Asian Athletics Championships were postponed several times, with the women's 4 x 400m event being delayed by nearly 2 hours. In the final, Quach Thi Lan and her teammates had to compete with opponents from Hong Kong - China, South Korea, India, Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.

Among them, India and Sri Lanka are still formidable competitors, not to mention the host Korea is also very strong, ready to compete for the highest achievement. Young face Nguyen Thi Ngoc was assigned the pioneering task and the girl from Ha Tinh quickly created an advantage when leading the first leg. Nguyen Thi Hang ran the second leg, although showing signs of running out of breath, she was not too far behind her Indian opponent in the leading position.

The main runner Quach Thi Lan in the third leg with a strong momentum helped the Vietnamese team regain the advantage, but then in the final leg, Hoang Thi Minh Hanh, despite competing with great effort, only finished in second place, behind the Indian athlete.
