It takes up to 3 years to build a farm, it is very difficult for businesses to break out.

(NLDO) - Private enterprises are like "drought meets rain" when Resolution 68 comes out, with the breakthroughs they have been waiting for for many years.

That was the comment of Mr. Truong Sy Ba, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tan Long Group, at the workshop "Building a self-reliant economy " organized by Thanh Nien Newspaper on the morning of May 30.

According to Mr. Truong Sy Ba, for private enterprises, Resolution 68-NQ/TW of the Politburo on private economic development is considered "rain in drought" that they have been waiting for for decades.

Because, for the first time, there is a resolution that puts private enterprises in the right position, so that Vietnamese private enterprises can have a stronger and more open development environment.

Mr. Ba said that Tan Long is the first enterprise to bring Vietnamese rice to the Japanese market under the Vietnamese brand AAn, not under a foreign brand. In 2024, AAn exported up to 5,000 tons of branded rice to Japan, and this year it plans to reach 30,000 tons - a record.

"To do so, Tan Long must focus on investing heavily in modern technology for preservation, production, and processing to reduce post-harvest losses. The current bank lending interest rate of 7-10% is a big challenge because the profit margin of the agricultural sector is not high. The agricultural sector wants to have more preferential interest rates, especially giving priority to units that are investing heavily in infrastructure, processing, and post-harvest preservation" - Mr. Truong Sy Ba expressed.

In the livestock sector, the procedures from the time a business buys land to the time it starts building a farm take about 3 years, making it difficult to move quickly and strongly. Businesses have to manage by buying back licensed projects.

If buying land to build a project from scratch, the Chairman of Tan Long Group shared that the business only has to spend about 400 - 500 million VND/ha, while buying back the project will cost twice as much. Such an increase in cost will greatly reduce the competitiveness of the business.

In order for Resolution 68 to come into effect, businesses want the implementation, operation, and enforcement of all ministries, departments, and branches to be synchronized. In the spirit of Resolution 68, businesses recommend continuing to improve procedures, reduce loan interest rates, etc.

Dr. Tran Du Lich said that this is a golden opportunity to build a self-reliant and self-reliant economy.

According to Dr. Le Xuan Nghia - former Vice Chairman of the National Financial Supervision Committee, in the long term, to be self-reliant, we need science and technology. Countries around the world are currently investing heavily in science and technology. Vietnam needs to pour more money into science and technology, and devote large resources to be self-reliant.
