Cristiano Ronaldo's current contract with Al-Nassr expires on June 30. Previously, rumors that he would leave the club to seek new challenges, including the possibility of participating in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup to conquer his first major title since moving to Saudi Arabia - had appeared frequently.
However, according to Foot Mercato, Ronaldo has agreed to extend his contract with Al-Nassr, with a huge salary of up to 167 million pounds/year. Notably, the Portuguese superstar also has no intention of participating in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
By continuing to stay with the Saudi Arabian club, Ronaldo is said to have made a series of professional demands in the new agreement, including changing the head coach and reforming the squad to help the team compete for the title next season.
Ronaldo has no intention of attending the Club World Cup, and has signed a new contract with a huge annual salary.
Despite turning 40, Ronaldo still showed impressive form with 25 goals in the Saudi Pro League (SPL) 2024-2025 season, winning the Golden Boot award. After 77 matches for Al-Nassr, CR7 has scored a total of 74 goals and is approaching the milestone of 1,000 goals in his career (currently owning 936 goals at club and national team level).
However, after more than two and a half years wearing the Al-Nassr shirt, Ronaldo has yet to win any official title with the team.
Next season, Al-Nassr will participate in the AFC Champions League Two - the second-tier Asian club tournament. This ticket only came thanks to Al-Ittihad winning the domestic double after a 3-1 victory over Al Qadisiyah in the King's Cup final this morning (May 31), helping Al-Nassr (ranked third in the SPL) secure the final spot in the continental cup.
The three spots in the AFC Champions League Elite - Asia's top competition - belong to Al-Ittihad, Al-Hilal and Al-Ahli, the fifth-placed team that surprisingly won the tournament this year.
