The next ranked teams in the region are Myanmar (55), Indonesia (95), Malaysia (102), Laos (107), Cambodia (118), Singapore (139) and Timor Leste (158).
In Asia, the Vietnamese women's team ranks behind Japan, South Korea, Australia, China and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
This position helps Vietnam maintain its advantage in upcoming international tournaments, while affirming the stable presence of Vietnamese women's football in the continental arena.
Currently, the Vietnamese women's team is training in Osaka (Japan) to prepare for the 2026 Asian Women's Football Championship qualifiers, which will take place in Phu Tho from June 29.
During the training trip, the team played three friendly matches.
On June 11, they won against Iga Kunoichi Mie FC with a score of 3-2; on June 13, they won against Tezukayama Gakuin University with a score of 3-1 and will continue to compete against Osaka University of Sports and Health Sciences on June 15.
After 2024, when there will be no official tournament, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team will start a busy cycle with 3 important tournaments in 2025: the 2026 Asian Women's Championship qualifiers, the Southeast Asian Women's Championship and the 33rd SEA Games.
