The Taiwanese team lost to the Vietnamese team in the 2023 AVC Cup, so they are considered "just right" when they play again in Bahrain. Nguyen Van Quoc Duy and his teammates also showed their ability when they won 25/21 against their opponents in game 1.
Reasons why Vietnamese volleyball team lost
Poor playing condition, especially the decline in spirit and physical strength, caused Coach Tran Dinh Tien's students to lose all 3 remaining games with scores of 22/25, 19/25, 22/25 respectively, and accept a final defeat of 1-3. The coaching staff of the Vietnamese men's volleyball team made adjustments by sending reserve players onto the field, but the hitters could not demonstrate their abilities and could not turn the game around.

Thus, the Vietnamese men's volleyball team ended their journey to conquer the 2025 AVC Nations Cup with 8th place overall. The mark that Nguyen Ngoc Thuan and Nguyen Van Quoc Duy left was the regrettable 2-3 loss to the defending champion Qatar in the quarterfinals. After the AVC Nations Cup, the Vietnamese men's volleyball team will participate in the Southeast Asian Volleyball Tournament (SEA V.League) scheduled to take place in August. The most important goal of coach Tran Dinh Tien and his team is to conquer the gold medal at the 33rd SEA Games taking place in December in Thailand.
