(Dan Tri) - The Southeast Asian Football Federation (AFF) has just announced the bonuses for football teams in the AFF Cup 2024.
The AFF Cup 2024 will take place from December 8, 2024 to January 5, 2025. This is the most anticipated tournament of the year in Southeast Asian football. Recently, the AFF has just announced the prize money for the teams in this tournament.
The Vietnamese team will receive 300,000 USD from the AFF Cup 2024 organizing committee if they win the championship (Photo: Minh Quan).
Accordingly, the 2024 AFF Cup champion will receive 300,000 USD (more than 7.6 billion VND). The champion of this tournament will have to go through 8 matches, including 4 matches in the group stage, 2 matches in the semi-finals and 2 matches in the final.
Notably, the prize money for the champion remains the same as last season. From 2012 to 2016, the AFF Cup champion received 200,000 USD. Since 2018, this prize has been increased by 100,000 USD.
In 2018, the Vietnamese team received this bonus for the first time. After that, Thailand won two tournaments in 2020 and 2022.
Meanwhile, the runner-up team will receive 100,000 USD (more than 2.5 billion VND). The two teams that stop in the semi-finals will receive 50,000 USD (more than 1.26 billion VND). In addition, the AFF Cup 2024 will have awards for the best player (MVP), top scorer and best goalkeeper. However, individual titles will not have prize money.

In addition to the bonus from the organizing committee, if winning the AFF Cup 2024, the Vietnamese team can receive huge bonuses from the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and sponsors.
Vietnamese football is in a period of crisis. In 2024, the Vietnamese team suffered defeat in 9/11 matches. The U23 and U20 Vietnam teams also did not compete successfully.
Therefore, the 2024 AFF Cup championship could be a savior for Vietnamese football. If we win this title, we promise to have a successful rebound in the future.
Vietnam will be in Group B of the 2024 AFF Cup with Indonesia, the Philippines, Myanmar and Laos. We will play our opening match against Laos on December 9.
