(GLO)- Information from My An Border Guard Station (under the Provincial Border Guard Command) said: On the evening of August 12, officers and soldiers of the unit coordinated with other forces to promptly extinguish a forest fire in the area.

At 1:30 p.m. on August 12, upon receiving a report from the public about a production forest fire (planting eucalyptus and acacia) in Hoai Ninh village (Phu My Dong commune), My An Border Guard Station mobilized 32 officers and soldiers along with fire-fighting equipment and vehicles to the scene.

Immediately after arriving, the Border Guard force quickly coordinated with local authorities and people to deploy firefighting measures such as: clearing firebreaks, using tree branches to put out the fire, digging trenches to prevent the fire from spreading... In hot weather conditions, strong winds and thick, flammable vegetation, officers and soldiers made efforts to control and prevent the fire from spreading.

After nearly 5 hours of fighting the "fire", by 6:00 p.m. the same day, the fire was basically controlled, protecting the safety of the surrounding forest area and people's property.
