At 10:30 a.m., Bac Son Border Guard Station received an urgent report from the public about a man drifting at sea, clinging only to a buoy. Immediately, a task force of 4 officers and soldiers and 2 speedboats were urgently mobilized to conduct search and rescue.
At 11:05 a.m. the same day, the rescue team discovered a man on an aquaculture raft, quite far from shore. The exact location was at coordinates 21 degrees 26 minutes 20 seconds North, 107 degrees 50 minutes 53 seconds East. After approaching, the working group verified the identity of the victim as Mr. Doan Van Quang, 39 years old, residing in Vinh Trung 2 village, Vinh Thuc commune.
Mr. Quang said that while he was looking after the flower mussels, the anchor rope of his boat suddenly broke. He tried to hold the buoy and jump into the sea to save his boat, but due to the big waves and strong winds, both he and the boat drifted away. After a while drifting at sea, he was fortunate to drift to the aforementioned aquaculture raft and was rescued in time.
Rescuers quickly brought Mr. Quang to shore and conducted a medical examination. His health is currently stable and there are no signs of danger.
The timely and responsible actions of Bac Son Border Guard Station once again affirmed the spirit of "serving the people", demonstrating effective coordination between functional forces and the masses in protecting the safety of fishermen at sea.
