Comrade Lai Xuan Mon holds the position of Chairman of the Scientific Council of Central Party Agencies.

On the afternoon of June 13, the Scientific Council of Central Party Agencies held a Conference to implement the Politburo 's Decision on assigning and appointing concurrently the position of Chairman of the Scientific Council of Central Party Agencies for the 2021-2026 term.

Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department attended and delivered a speech.

At the Conference, comrade Phan Thang An, Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee, announced the Politburo's Decision on the assignment and appointment of comrade Lai Xuan Mon, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, concurrently holding the position of Chairman of the Scientific Council of Central Party Agencies for the 2021-2026 term.

Speaking at the Conference, comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, congratulated comrade Lai Xuan Mon on being entrusted by the Politburo with the additional responsibility of holding the position of Chairman of the Scientific Council of Central Party Agencies for the 2021-2026 term.

Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia expressed his belief that with his extensive working experience, Comrade Lai Xuan Mon, in his position as Chairman of the Scientific Council of Central Party Agencies for the 2021-2026 term, will be the nucleus of solidarity, together with the Standing Committee of the Council, leading and directing the activities of the Scientific Council of Central Party Agencies, inheriting and promoting the 27-year tradition of the Council, continuing to build and develop the Council with many new steps forward.

Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia also pointed out: In the current new context, there are great requirements and demands for further improving the quality of scientific activities to serve the strategic advisory work of the Central Party Committees and agencies. The Head of the Central Propaganda Department requested that in the coming period, the Council should strive to fulfill the functions and tasks of the Council according to Decision No. 2436-QD/BTGTW, dated May 23, 2023 of the Head of the Central Propaganda Department; continue to strongly innovate the content and methods of operation. In particular, attach importance to the tasks of summarizing practices over 40 years of innovation; contribute to the drafting of the documents of the 14th National Party Congress. Focus on innovating the methods and processes of assessment and applying scientific research results in practice; taking application value as the basic criterion and measure to evaluate the quality of scientific research.

The Scientific Council of the Central Party agencies needs to deeply and comprehensively understand the Party's guidelines and viewpoints on science and technology in general, and the responsibility for directing scientific activities of the agency in particular. Form a leadership mechanism, orienting the ordering of scientific research. Identify scientific research as one of the regular political tasks of the Committees and agencies; scientific research results are the criteria for evaluating, considering the capacity, and using strategic staff. Each staff member in the Central Party Committees and agencies needs to actively, proactively, and voluntarily participate in scientific research activities, considering this as a method of self-training and practice, a driving force to strive to become a good expert, with the qualities and ethics of a Party official; through scientific activities to improve the level and skills of staff...

At the Conference, Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia also expressed his gratitude for the contributions of Professor, Dr. Phung Huu Phu - former Chairman of the Scientific Council of Central Party Agencies for the 2016-2021 term to the Scientific Council of Central Party Agencies. With more than 16 years as Chairman of the Council, Professor, Dr. Phung Huu Phu, together with generations of Council leaders and Council members, has built the Council to become increasingly strong, leaving many outstanding marks and results; trusted and highly appreciated by key leaders of the Party, State, leaders of Central Party Committees and agencies.

Speaking at the ceremony to assume the responsibility of Chairman of the Scientific Council of Central Party Agencies for the 2021-2026 term, Comrade Lai Xuan Mon expressed: As Chairman of the Council, he and the Council will promote the good tradition, strive to build a streamlined, dedicated, professional, practical, high-quality and effective Scientific Council of Central Party Agencies; especially improving the quality of research to serve the advisory work better and better./.
