Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan, Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Muong La District, said: The Association has proactively coordinated with the district's professional agencies to implement many specific solutions to support members in developing the economy in a sustainable and cooperative direction. Propaganda and mobilization of members to participate in the collective economic model. Up to now, the whole district has 57 agricultural cooperatives operating effectively, mainly in cultivation, livestock and aquaculture.
Since the beginning of the year, the District Farmers' Association has coordinated with the District Employment Service Center, professional agencies and enterprises to organize more than 40 training courses on organic fruit tree care techniques, pest control with biological products, environmental protection in farming; safe biological livestock farming, waste treatment to make biofertilizers, development of circular economic models... for more than 14,000 members.
Promoting the role of a bridge to help members access preferential credit capital for investment in production development, the association is managing over 2 billion VND of the Farmers Support Fund, lending 60 member households capital to invest in economic development and implementing 10 projects. At the same time, it has been entrusted with the Social Policy Bank and Agribank Muong La District Branch with over 138 billion VND, lending over 3,000 members to invest in expanding production scale, renovating mixed gardens, raising buffalo, cows, indigenous black chickens, raising fish in cages on the Da River reservoir...
In 2021, Mr. Tong Van Thuong, Pat village, Muong Chum commune, borrowed 50 million VND from the Farmers' Support Fund, invested in renovating and planting nearly 2 hectares of mango and longan. Mr. Thuong shared: I participated in training courses on cultivation and animal husbandry techniques, applied the right techniques, so the garden grew well, each crop yielded nearly 10 tons of fruit. In addition, the family also raised 10 sows, 6 buffaloes and cows. From the integrated economic model, each year, the profit is over 300 million VND, after deducting expenses.
In Chieng Lao commune, the Commune Farmers' Association has mobilized the establishment of 2 aquatic cooperatives, linking production and product consumption. Mr. Ca Van Sieng, Director of Binh Minh Cooperative, Na Nong village, Chieng Lao commune, shared: The cooperative has 7 members, the Commune Farmers' Association has created conditions for borrowing capital from the Farmers' Support Fund and preferential capital from the Bank for Social Policies, investing in raising 40 fish cages, with an average output of 40 tons of fish/year, and revenue reaching over 3 billion VND.
Along with the development of the collective economy, the District Farmers' Association has effectively implemented the movement "Farmers compete in good production and business", many members have promoted the application of technical advances in production. Since the beginning of 2024, the whole district has had over 1,500 members recognized as good farmers in production and business at all levels.
