Storms cause damage to houses and rice about to be harvested in Bac Tra My

(QNO) - On the evening of April 25, after many days of intense sunshine, thunderstorms and tornadoes suddenly swept through Bac Tra My district, causing heavy damage to the people.

As of the morning of April 26, at least 13 houses in Tra Doc, Tra Kot, Tra Son, Tra Ka, Tra Giac, Tra Tan communes and Tra My town had their roofs blown off or collapsed.

The garage of Tra Kot Commune Health Station was also blown down by the tornado. On some roads, fallen trees blocked and crushed power lines, causing localized power outages in many areas.

In addition, more than 100 hectares of rice fields in the harvest season in Tra Duong, Tra Dong, Tra Giang communes... were knocked down by whirlwinds, causing heavy damage to farmers.

Currently, local authorities are urgently inspecting the damage and mobilizing forces to support people to overcome the consequences and stabilize their lives.
