In the first 6 months of the year, the Steering Committee 389 of ministries, branches, provinces and cities has done a good job of leading, directing, disseminating and requesting units and forces to strictly implement the directives of the Central Government and units on the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods. The functional forces actively and proactively carried out professional measures, promptly detected, fought, prevented, arrested and strictly handled violations of the law related to smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods and intellectual property infringement. The work of exchanging, sharing and coordinating the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods was highly effective. The propaganda work was widely spread to many fields, localities and subjects. Thereby, units and localities arrested and handled 49,714 violations, collected more than 6,459.2 billion VND for the budget, and prosecuted 1,899 cases with 3,217 subjects.
During the peak month alone, units and localities arrested and handled 10,437 cases of smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods, collecting 1,279 billion VND for the state budget, and prosecuted 204 cases with 378 defendants.
In Quang Ninh, in the first 6 months of the year, the Provincial Steering Committee 389 has seriously implemented plans and directives from the Central and the province on the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods; effectively implemented the peak period; coordinated with local forces to manage, inspect, supervise and control imported and exported goods, means of transport, and passengers entering and exiting the country; closely monitored 24/7 import and export goods, means of transport, and luggage of passengers entering and exiting the country; deployed many key topics and plans... Thereby, the functional forces in the province have detected, arrested and handled 1,464 cases of smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and criminally prosecuted 35 cases with 60 subjects.
During the peak month alone, the functional forces in the province discovered, arrested, and handled 380 cases of smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods, with the value of infringing goods reaching 8.8 billion VND.
Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the efforts of ministries, branches, localities and functional forces who have actively and proactively taken professional measures, promptly detected, arrested and strictly handled violations of the law related to smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights within their authority, contributing to stabilizing the market, protecting the rights and interests of businesses and consumers, ensuring security and order, and serving the country's socio -economic development.
The Prime Minister directed that in the coming time, relevant agencies and units continue to step up the fight against, prevent and repel smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods and infringement of intellectual property rights; continue to review difficulties and obstacles to propose timely amendments, supplements and replacements, gradually perfecting institutions and legal regulations to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of anti-smuggling and trade fraud work; declare war, be uncompromising, and wipe out crimes of production, circulation, trading and selling of fake drugs and fake food. The authorities are constantly on the move, without stopping, with no restricted areas. Handling one case is enough to alert the whole area. They work day and night, and even on holidays.
Central and local ministries and branches need to launch emulation movements so that each citizen is a soldier on the front line of declaring war on counterfeit goods, and a smart consumer in the market . At the same time, promote propaganda, education, and dissemination of laws to organizations, individuals and people to contribute to raising awareness and compliance with legal regulations; widely publicize hotlines, ensure timely collection of reports from people and businesses on smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods, etc.
People's Committees of provinces and cities should soon complete the local Steering Committee 389 after merging provinces and cities and implementing the 2-level local government model to advise and direct the effective implementation of anti-smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods...
