Dong Nai: Sowing green seeds from the pages of books

Recently, the program "Exchange with the future - Spring for children" brought a meaningful festival to students, mostly Chinese ethnic children, at Nguyen Thai Binh Primary School (Trang Bom district).

The cement schoolyard suddenly turned into a colorful stage. There were no flashy lights or overwhelming sounds, the attraction came from the simplest things. The center of attention was writer and journalist Phuong Huyen. With her warm voice, she drew hundreds of students into the world of meaningful stories about gratitude, love for family and friends. The lessons were no longer dry on paper but came to life through each comic strip, each colored line created by the students themselves.

The children were excited to share and interact with the Ambassador of Reading Culture, Writer and Journalist Phuong Huyen at the program.

Looking at the round eyes, attentively following the story, the small hands quickly coloring, we can see the power of learning while doing. The atmosphere became even more explosive when the physical games and intellectual quizzes began.

The regretful "Ah!" and "Oh!" sounds or the hearty laughter when a friend wins a small gift erase all distances. These exciting extracurricular activities are a valuable spiritual medicine, helping children find joy and new excitement between class hours.

The children were absorbed in drawing at the program.

In the middle of the school yard filled with innocent laughter, Principal Nguyen Thi Thu Ha joined the students. Her eyes sparkled with genuine happiness when witnessing everything. For her, an event like this, taking place in the middle of the second semester, has a very special meaning. Ms. Ha shared. "Here, most of the students are Chinese, living in difficult conditions, and access to good books and new books is limited. Today's program is like a shower of rain that cools the students' souls, awakening their passion for learning so that they can complete the school year well. Seeing the students happy and excited about books, we believe that the habit of reading will spread even more strongly."

Tran Thi Thao My, a young student, is hugging her new comic book tightly. When asked about her feelings, she shyly but boldly shared a profound thought: "I'm very happy... I think reading books can broaden my knowledge and I think we should replace using phones with reading books for entertainment."

Children enthusiastically choose their favorite books at the program.

Sharing the same joy, Khuat Nhu Han found happiness in creative experiences. Her face lit up as she recounted: "I felt very happy to participate in reading and coloring activities. Everyone was very supportive and I felt very happy to discover new books."

The practical gift from the sponsor, including 20 million VND in books for the library and 10 scholarships for students with difficulties, is a direct and valuable investment. It is a timely encouragement, providing additional resources and confidence for the students in the remaining months of the school year.

The program has ended, but the journey of the seeds of knowledge has just begun. The books given today will not only be on the bookshelf, but will be passed around to read and discussed during class activities. "Spring for You" has ended, but its echoes will last forever. The seeds of love sown in this warm spring weather promise to grow, blossom and bear fruit, creating endless spring in the soul and future of each child.
