Dong Nai promotes sustainable growth from science and technology development

According to the Provincial Steering Committee for Science and Technology Development, Innovation and Digital Transformation, implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation, Dong Nai has issued many decisions, regulations and specific plans to promote these fields in the locality. By the end of September 2025, the province had completed 67 tasks and was implementing 62 other tasks on schedule.

In 2025, Dong Nai will promote the Digital Literacy Program, helping to popularize technological knowledge to all people. More than 118,000 officials, civil servants, public employees and people have been trained in digital skills and artificial intelligence (AI) applications, of which 29,500 officials and civil servants have been trained in depth in applying AI skills in their work.

In particular, the Techfest Dong Nai 2025 event with the theme "Creative Runway - Dong Nai Takes Off" has become a major highlight, gathering more than 200 booths displaying technology products, creative solutions, OCOP products and a series of specialized seminars, demonstrating the strong spirit of innovation of the locality.

Speaking to Dong Nai Newspaper, Director of the Department of Science and Technology Pham Van Trinh emphasized that Techfest is not only a playground for creative start-up businesses but also an opportunity to raise social awareness about the role of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation in the province's socio -economic development, aiming to replicate effective and sustainable models after the event.

Along with that, Dong Nai has invested heavily in digital infrastructure, equipping all levels of government with modern equipment to ensure connection and interconnectivity throughout the system, especially at public administrative service centers. The whole province has publicized and updated 2,174 administrative procedures to the National Database, bringing the digitization rate of records to 82.3% and the electronic results rate to 84.4% by the end of September 2025.

In the final months of the year, Dong Nai continues to focus on key tasks such as completing technology infrastructure, establishing Long Thanh Concentrated Information Technology Park, upgrading the data connection system, ensuring the provision of substantial online public services throughout the process for people and businesses.

The province also aims to completely eliminate telecommunications signal depressions by 2025, complete electronic medical records, issue digital signatures and digital certificates to medical facilities, and aim for 80% of the adult population to have access to digital services in healthcare, education, insurance, and transportation. In addition, Dong Nai will develop an AI Assistant virtual assistant specifically for officials and civil servants, and deploy a province-wide network security monitoring system (SOC) to ensure data security and effective operation of the digital government system.

Regarding the disbursement of investment capital for science and technology, innovation and digital transformation, by the end of September 2025, Dong Nai had disbursed 363 billion VND, reaching 36% of the total assigned estimate. Of which, development investment expenditure reached 45.6% with 12 projects in the fields of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation, with a total capital of 720 billion VND.

The Department of Science and Technology said it will closely coordinate with departments, branches, localities and a team of experts and scientists inside and outside the province to organize conferences to deploy, guide budget preparation and carry out specialized tasks. This is also an opportunity for localities to reflect on difficulties, propose practical solutions, and receive professional advice and technical support in promoting the application of science and technology and digital transformation at the grassroots level.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Truong Son emphasized that relevant departments, branches and units need to continue to review and ensure progress and efficiency in disbursing development investment capital, especially projects in the fields of science - technology, innovation and digital transformation, while focusing on integrating tasks in education, health and digital human resource training to create a solid foundation for the province's digital economic development in the new period.
