Budget revenue exceeds estimate, industry and trade increase sharply
In the context of many economic challenges, Dong Thap still emerges as a bright spot in the Mekong Delta with impressive growth results. Budget revenue in the first 11 months of 2025 exceeded 101% of the estimate, investment attraction made a breakthrough, new businesses increased sharply and more than 55,000 workers were employed, creating a bright and sustainable socio-economic picture.

According to Mr. Nguyen Phi Da, Chief of Office of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee, in November and 11 months of 2025, the province will focus on growth targets, proactively remove difficulties and exploit development space. Agriculture will remain stable, vegetable and fruit production will increase. Pests and diseases will be controlled, and agricultural products will be consumed smoothly.
The processing and manufacturing industry continues to play a leading role with the industrial production index in November 2025 estimated to increase by 13.5% over the same period, showing a clear recovery momentum. Total retail sales of goods and service revenue in November reached VND 22,055 billion, up more than 14.4% over the same period, cumulatively reaching VND 227,920 billion in 11 months, equal to 89.42% of the yearly plan.
Export activities remained stable, with export turnover in November reaching 810 million USD, and cumulatively 8.63 billion USD, reaching nearly 94% of the plan. On the contrary, imports in 11 months reached 4.46 billion USD, up 11% and reaching 100.08% of the plan.
The important highlight is that state budget revenue reached VND 20,966 billion, equivalent to 101.36% of the estimate, while budget expenditure was controlled at VND 34,832 billion, reaching 79.47% of the estimate, reflecting effective and tight budget management.
Regarding public investment, Dong Thap has a total capital plan of 16,393 billion VND, and by November 14, 8,777 billion VND had been disbursed, reaching 65.9% of the plan assigned by the Prime Minister. The province is also actively supplying sand for 8 central highways, supplying 12.15 million m3 out of a total demand of 26.1 million m3.
In addition, Dong Thap has just signed the Vietnam - Cambodia Border Trade Agreement with Prey Veng province, expanding opportunities for trade in goods.

Investment attraction increases sharply, new businesses boom
One of the province's bright spots is the sharp increase in investment attraction. As of November 2025, Dong Thap has attracted 51 new investment projects, including 13 FDI projects, with a total registered capital of more than VND 21,294 billion, an increase of 26 projects and more than VND 15,000 billion compared to the previous year.
Business start-ups and development are taking place vigorously. The whole province has 2,435 newly established enterprises, reaching 170.4% over the same period, and 1,831 more affiliated units were established. Currently, Dong Thap has about 12,943 operating enterprises, showing that the local economic strength continues to expand.
Labor supply-demand connection activities were implemented synchronously. In November, Dong Thap organized 22 job fairs with more than 6,463 workers participating, successfully connecting 1,473 cases. In the 11 months, the province created jobs for 55,154 workers, reaching 110% of the yearly target.

Regarding labor export, Dong Thap sent 2,610 workers abroad, exceeding the plan by 102%, of which Japan accounted for the highest proportion.
Tourism is also a bright spot. In November alone, the province welcomed 375,000 visitors, including 45,000 international visitors, with total revenue reaching 140 billion VND. In the first 11 months, Dong Thap welcomed 5.8 million visitors, with total revenue of more than 3,340 billion VND, a figure that affirms the locality's position in eco-tourism and experience.
At the same time, the province has fully implemented policies for 2,767 cases of cadres, civil servants and public employees affected by the organizational restructuring, with a total cost of VND 2,714 billion.
During the 11 months, Dong Thap maintained political security, social order and safety; promoted anti-corruption, practiced thrift, and combated waste; and strictly controlled activities related to weapons, explosives, and fireworks.
The province continues to require 100% of offshore fishing vessels to enter designated ports to combat IUU fishing.
Looking ahead, Dong Thap aims to accelerate disbursement of public investment capital, significantly improve the business investment environment, shorten administrative procedures, digital transformation, develop a green and circular economy, and maintain a GDP growth rate of 8% or more in 2025.
With a solid foundation of exceeding budget revenue estimates, strong investment attraction, vibrant business development and guaranteed employment, Dong Thap is accelerating towards the finish line, aiming to complete and exceed the socio-economic targets of 2025.
