According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Tay Ninh province, the total area affected by floods so far is over 800 hectares, including nearly 630 hectares of rice fields submerged (605 hectares completely destroyed), 107 hectares of fruit trees (104 hectares completely destroyed), and 86 hectares of vegetables and short-term crops swept away.

Currently, the area remains deeply flooded, threatening nearly 9,300 hectares of other crops. In Vinh Chau commune, the Chairman of the People's Committee, Nguyen Van Chi, said that this year's water level is about half a meter higher than the peak flood of 2024, and many sections of the dikes have been breached. The commune has requested watercraft to reduce speed when navigating canals and ditches to limit waves from flooding the fields. The entire commune has nearly 7,900 hectares of rice fields aged 10-50 days, of which hundreds of hectares are currently threatened by flooding. People have mobilized vehicles and materials to reinforce and raise the dikes, but if the water continues to rise, flood control will become very difficult.

According to Ms. Dinh Thi Phuong Khanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Tay Ninh province, local authorities have mobilized soldiers, militia, and people to urgently reinforce dikes to protect the unharvested autumn-winter rice crop. The forces and people are working day and night, contributing labor and materials to maintain the dikes, save the rice, and minimize damage.
In Hung Dien commune, floodwaters are threatening to overflow several low sections of the dike, potentially flooding approximately 300 hectares of rice paddies that are nearing harvest. The Song Trang Border Guard Command has dispatched two task forces with dozens of officers and soldiers to coordinate with the local government and residents to reinforce and compact the vulnerable sections of the dike to prevent water from overflowing.

Along with flood control, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Tay Ninh province is coordinating with localities to review and compile statistics on damage, propose plans to support people in overcoming the consequences, stabilizing production, and protecting the irrigation system in the face of unusual weather patterns.
