Leading the group is singer and songwriter Huynh Duc (Huynh Huu Duc, pictured), a young man born in 1995 in Ho Chi Minh City, with a gentle personality, enthusiasm, and passion for music . At the age of four, Huynh Duc showed musical talent and his family enrolled him in performing arts activities at the District 11 Children's House (formerly). In 2014, Huynh Duc studied at the Ho Chi Minh City College of Culture and Arts, majoring in Vocal Music. In 2018, he joined the Sao Viet singing group, specializing in traditional revolutionary music and patriotic songs. In early 2024, Huynh Duc left Sao Viet to form the Era Wave group, collaborating with several other young music enthusiasts.
With his new group, Huynh Duc remains committed to his chosen path: promoting and spreading the values of traditional revolutionary music, songs of love for the homeland, and songs praising Vietnamese youth and the young generation of the new era. However, the group chooses a new approach, combining traditional content with fresh, modern arrangements and orchestrations that are closer to the entertainment trends of young audiences.
Huynh Duc's seven years of professional artistic career include over 30 songs he composed and hundreds of performances, both large and small. His compositions capture the emotions and impressions of youth, the beautiful memories of a dynamic, strong, and optimistic young person, ready to dedicate their youthful energy to building and protecting the nation. Among these songs are "Steps of the New Generation," which won the B prize in the Award for Composition and Promotion of Literary, Artistic, and Journalistic Works on the theme "Studying and Following the Ideology, Morality, and Style of Ho Chi Minh " in Ho Chi Minh City, Phase 1, 2021-2025, organized by the Propaganda Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee (now the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee); and the song "Lights in the City," which won the New Creativity Award in the songwriting competition celebrating the 78th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnamese Transport Industry. The song "Where the Green Shines" won the Quality Song Award at the youth songwriting competition organized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union in 2024...
Huynh Duc shared: “As someone who both composes and performs, I always hope that the songs I write and perform reach an ever-increasing audience. Besides that, like many young composers today, in addition to applying new elements, preserving and spreading traditional cultural and artistic values is something we always strive to do.”
After two years of active participation, Huynh Duc's Era Wave group has released 5 music videos and participated in many music events, such as: the Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival (2024), the Dong Thap Lotus Festival (2024), the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival (2025), the Youth Fest (2024, 2025), the Vietnamese Tet Festival, welcoming the Southeast Asian Youth Ship...; contributing their youthful energy to meaningful programs: "The Border and Islands in My Heart," "Spring at the Border Guard," etc. The group also actively spread their activities and performances on YouTube, Facebook, TikTok... to get closer to the younger audience.
