Completed construction and upgrading of 55 electric pumping stations and reservoirs

In the period of 2021 - 2025, with many investment sources, the western area of ​​Hai Phong completed the renovation, upgrading, construction and repair of 55 electric pumping stations and reservoirs.

Van Thang pumping station in Le Dai Hanh ward was renovated and repaired with a total investment of more than 36 billion VND, including renovating the station house, replacing the electrical system, and synchronizing 14 pumps with a capacity of 4,000 m3/hour.

According to the city's Department of Agriculture and Environment, implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, in the period of 2021 - 2025, with capital sources, in the western area of ​​Hai Phong, 55 electric pumping stations and reservoirs will be renovated, upgraded, newly built, and repaired.

Of which, 10 reservoirs will be upgraded, 4 new electric pumping stations will be built, and 41 electric pumping stations will be renovated, repaired and upgraded.

Currently, the western region of Hai Phong has 1,245 pumping stations, 68 reservoirs, 6,800 km of canals, and 840 km of coastline with the task of irrigation, drainage, and water supply for production for hundreds of thousands of hectares of cultivated land and aquaculture.

The irrigation system in the western region of Hai Phong has developed widely, with diverse types of works, associated with the goal of restructuring the agricultural sector, thereby promoting the development of agricultural production, gradually forming large, specialized production areas.

Along with investing in dredging main irrigation canals to proactively change crop structure, communes also do a good job of dredging locally managed intra-field canals.
