Dong Thap holds extraordinary session of Provincial People's Council

On March 21, the People's Council of Dong Thap province, term X, held its 8th extraordinary session.

According to the Provincial People's Council, the session has special significance in implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, the Resolution of the 11th Provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term and the 5-year socio-economic development plan for the 2021-2026 period.

“The contents decided at this session are of great significance in implementing the socio-economic development plan for 2024 and the long-term sustainable development of Dong Thap province,” said Phan Van Thang, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial People's Council.

At the meeting, delegates listened to the Directors of the Departments of Planning and Investment, Finance, Agriculture and Rural Development, and Natural Resources and Environment present the contents of the reports and draft Resolutions in various fields.

After discussing and contributing ideas, delegates voted to approve 11 draft resolutions in the fields of economics, public investment budget, and collective economic development.

The resolutions passed include: Approval of the 2024 public investment plan from the state budget managed and allocated by the province (phase 2); Allocation of capital for new rural development in 2024 according to Decision No. 1600 dated December 10, 2023 of the Prime Minister on the allocation of the state budget estimate for 2024.

At the same time, issue regulations to support agricultural cooperatives in investing in infrastructure and processing products in Dong Thap province until 2025; Plan to use increased local budget revenue from increased lottery revenue in 2023 and revenue from divestment of state capital at Dong Thap Construction and Construction Materials Joint Stock Company...

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Dong Thap province Phan Van Thang; Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province Pham Thien Nghia presented flowers to congratulate Ms. Nguyen Lam Thanh Thuy.

The meeting also elected an additional position of Member of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province for the 2021-2026 term for Ms. Nguyen Lam Thanh Thuy, Director of the Department of Information and Communications.

Speaking at the closing session, the Chairman of the People's Council of Dong Thap province requested the Provincial People's Committee to immediately allocate resources and prepare conditions to implement specific plans immediately after the session to quickly put the resolutions into practice.

At the same time, regularly monitor and evaluate the impact of policies, promptly propose implementation solutions, new policies, especially specific policies for socio-economic development of the province.

Provincial leaders awarded Certificates of Merit and presented flowers to congratulate representatives of 4 delegations for their outstanding achievements in emulation activities.

On this occasion, the People's Committee of Dong Thap province awarded Certificates of Merit to 4 collectives and 11 individuals with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "Innovating content and methods of operation, improving the quality and efficiency of the Provincial People's Council" in 2023.
