Vietnam women's futsal team got off to a shaky start in the quarter-final when Japan took the lead in the 4th minute, after an unfortunate own goal by Phuong Anh.
In the following minutes, the opposing team continued to put strong pressure, forcing goalkeeper Thuy Linh to continuously show her talent in blocking dangerous shots.

However, the girls in red also created some notable counter-attacks, including Nguyet Vy's long-range shot and Van Anh's pressing opportunities that made the Japanese goal shake many times.
In the second half, Japan doubled the gap in the 24th minute with a close-range shot from Egawa. The Vietnamese team tried their best to play power-play at the end of the match but could not find an equalizer, had to accept a 0-2 defeat and stopped at the quarter-finals of the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship. However, this was still a journey full of effort and valuable experience for the future.
