This year, UpRace's message is "Every Step Matters". According to the organizers, this message wants to remind everyone that sometimes great hopes start from very small things, like a step, a breath, a decision to run for someone other than yourself.
Speaking at the UpRace press conference, Mr. Kelly Wong, General Director of VNG, shared: "This year has been a difficult year for many of us. But for those that UpRace wants to support, everything is many times more difficult.
So even though each person's resources are limited, I believe we can still choose to help, especially when just one step of yours can bring hope to someone. This has also been the spirit of UpRace since the early days: just one small action, when done by many people, the impact created will be huge."
The most valuable point of UpRace is the simple and transparent model, when each kilometer is converted into support to the right place. Such a clear mechanism, on a large scale like this, is really not much. Perhaps that is why hundreds of thousands of people and organizations have accompanied UpRace over the years."
Like previous seasons, UpRace 2025 will not set a target for the number of kilometers run. Instead, the project expects more runners to participate, focusing on the experience and creating meaningful stories together.
During the 24-day journey, each running team from businesses, schools, and communities will record their achievements on the UpRace app. Each kilometer is equivalent to 1,000 VND, which will be converted by sponsors into a fund to support social organizations to help premature babies be saved in time, wheelchairs help people with disabilities move confidently to earn a living, or children in the highlands keep their dreams of going to school...
This year, the Dream Creation Fund (DMF) and VNG continue to be strategic sponsors, and the funds raised will accompany three prestigious social organizations that have long been associated with UpRace: Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund, Association for the Support of Vietnamese Disabled and Orphans (ASVDO) and the Center for Supporting the Development of Care for Mothers and Newborns in Vietnam (So Sinh Viet Nam).
