Weather forecast February 26, 2024: Cold air strengthens, the North continues to be cold

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, in the North a cold air mass is moving south.

It is forecasted that this evening and tonight (February 26), this cold air mass will affect the Northeast region, then affect some places in the Northwest. Northeast wind inland will gradually strengthen to level 2-3, coastal areas level 3.

The North and North Central regions will continue to experience cold weather. From February 27, the Northeast region will experience severe cold, with some mountainous areas experiencing severe cold. During this cold spell, the lowest temperature in the Northeast will generally be 11-14 degrees Celsius, in the Northern mountainous areas from 8-11 degrees Celsius, and in some high mountainous areas below 8 degrees Celsius.

At the same time, the northeastern area of the North East Sea continues to have strong northeast winds of level 6, gusting to level 7-8, rough seas; waves from 2-4.5m high. The sea area from Ninh Thuan to Ca Mau, the west of the South East Sea area (including the sea area west of Truong Sa archipelago) has strong northeast winds of level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7; waves from 2-3.5m high; rough seas.

Due to the influence of cold air, from the evening and night of February 26-27, the weather in the North and North Central regions will have scattered rain and light rain. From the night of February 26-27, the area from Quang Binh to Khanh Hoa will have scattered rain and showers and thunderstorms in some places. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

In addition, the remaining areas across the country today will maintain sunshine; only the Southeast region will have hot weather.

Northwest

Cloudy, scattered rain and drizzle in the morning and at night; in the Northwest there will be rain in some places, in the afternoon the clouds will decrease and it will be sunny. Light wind. Cold weather, in the Northwest it will be cold at night.

Northeast

Da Nang to Binh Thuan
