According to a survey at 9:17 a.m. on June 12 (Vietnam time), WTI oil price decreased by 0.35 USD/barrel (down 0.51%), down to 67.80 USD/barrel. Brent oil price decreased by 0.151 USD/barrel (down 0.73%), down to 69.45 USD/barrel.
Expectations of positive progress in trade negotiations between the United States and China – the world's two leading economies – have contributed to increasing the outlook for global energy consumption, thereby creating a driving force for higher oil prices.
In the United States, data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA) showed that crude oil inventories fell by 3.6 million barrels last week, bringing total inventories to 432.4 million barrels. This development reflects a growing trend in domestic demand, contributing to the recovery of the oil market.
For the domestic market, Mr. Doan Tien Quyet - data analyst of VPI forecasts that the retail price of E5 RON 92 gasoline may increase by 173 VND (0.9%) to 19,433 VND/liter, while RON 95-III gasoline may increase by 217 VND (1.1%) to 19,907 VND/liter.
VPI's model predicts that retail oil prices will also increase this period. Specifically, diesel may increase by 1.8% to VND17,734/liter, kerosene may increase by 1.6% to VND17,556/liter, and fuel oil is forecast to increase by 1.3% to VND16,380/kg. VPI predicts that the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry and Trade will continue not to set aside or use the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund this period.
According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. According to current market developments, it is forecasted that in the next price adjustment period, retail petroleum prices may increase.
Of which, the price of RON 95 - III gasoline is forecast to increase by about 280 VND/liter; E5 RON 92 - II gasoline will increase by about 200 VND/liter; Diesel oil will increase by about 290 VND/liter.
Domestic retail gasoline prices on June 12, 2025 will be applied according to the adjustment session from 3:00 p.m. on June 5 by the Ministry of Finance - Ministry of Industry and Trade. In yesterday's adjustment session (June 5), the price of E5 RON 92 gasoline increased compared to the previous adjustment period, at 19,263 VND/liter (up 67 VND/liter). The price of RON 95-III gasoline increased compared to the previous adjustment period, at 19,698 VND/liter (up 133 VND/liter). Prices of petroleum products fluctuated in different directions. Of which, diesel 0.05S is priced at 17,420 VND/liter (up 284 VND/liter); kerosene has a new price of 17,284 VND/liter (up 176 VND/liter); fuel oil is priced at 16,178 VND/kg (down 86 VND/kg). |
