In the first days of the new year, tourists flocked to famous tourist attractions in Hoi An to have fun and attend festivals in the chilly weather. During the 3-day Tet holiday, Hoi An City has decided not to sell tickets at all tourist attractions.

The main streets of the old town such as Bach Dang, Tran Phu, Nguyen Thai Hoc… are packed with tourists. In addition to domestic tourists, tourists from Asian countries that also celebrate Lunar New Year such as China, Korea… have chosen Hoi An as a spring travel destination.

Le Thuy Loan (a tourist from Quang Ngai ) shared: "On the first day of the new year, my friends and I chose Hoi An to travel in the spring, capturing wonderful pictures of our youth. The old town is very crowded, everyone is radiant, the Tet atmosphere here is not found anywhere else."
In 2023, the total production value of the entire tourism - service - trade industry in Hoi An is estimated to reach 4,372 billion VND, an increase of 75.07% over the same period, exceeding 63.02% of the plan.

Tourist arrivals are estimated at 4 million, double the same period last year, reaching 165.36% of the plan, of which international visitors are estimated at 3 million, triple the same period last year.
The total number of visitors buying tickets to visit tourist attractions is estimated at more than 3 million, an increase of more than 130% over the same period (more than 2.5 million international visitors, more than 600 domestic visitors).

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Son, Chairman of Hoi An City, to achieve the above results, the city has actively organized many tourism activities as well as large-scale political, cultural and social events.
The most notable highlight in 2023 is that Hoi An officially became a member of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the field of crafts and folk arts. Thereby, creating a new position and brand for the city.
