Just 5 days after the third storm passed, Saigon - Ha Long Hotel welcomed many tourist groups, mainly international groups. Mr. Nguyen Thai Hung, General Director of Saigon - Ha Long Hotel said: Tourists in general, especially foreign tourists, sympathize with the difficulties and losses caused by natural disasters. However, they always put safety first and we quickly took all measures, proactively cleaned up and overcame the consequences of the storm to meet that requirement. Up to this point, the hotel has returned to welcoming guests as usual.

Most of the onshore accommodation facilities in Ha Long City were severely damaged, such as: broken glass, broken roof tiles, collapsed ceilings, damaged furniture in the rooms, reception area, restaurant, bar, auxiliary areas; fallen trees, lamp posts in the premises; damaged electrical, air conditioning, water systems... However, with the determination to fix it as soon as possible, up to this point, 36/39 4-5 star hotels with nearly 5,200/8,600 rooms are continuously welcoming guests. The small-scale tourist accommodation facilities (from 1-3 stars and meeting standards) with about 580 hotels, 8,540 rooms are also operating normally.

At international cruise ports, most cruise ships have ensured the conditions of facilities and service quality, and have picked up and dropped off many groups of tourists after the storm. Currently, there are about 359 ships anchored at Ha Long International Cruise Port and Tuan Chau International Cruise Port. Of these, 315 ships, accounting for 88% of the ships, have welcomed tourists. The good news is that just a few days after the storm (from September 10 to 17), Ha Long Bay welcomed nearly 30,000 visitors, of which nearly 90% were foreign visitors. This continues to affirm the brand of Ha Long Bay - a destination not to be missed by international tourists on their journey to explore Vietnam.

Ms. Claire Lonchamt (French tourist) said: When we knew that our destination, Ha Long City, was directly affected by storm No. 3, we were extremely worried. But when we arrived here, the repair work was done quickly. The quality of service was also very professional. Seeing the busy cruise ships picking up and dropping off guests made us feel more secure to experience a memorable vacation here.

Some key tourist attractions in Ha Long City, such as: Quang Ninh Museum, Provincial Planning and Exhibition Center, Sun World Entertainment Area, Tuan Chau Tourist Area... suffered heavy damage to infrastructure. Therefore, immediately after the storm passed, Ha Long City leaders quickly directed localities and called on people and businesses to join hands to overcome the consequences. Ms. Phan Thi Hai Huong, Head of the Propaganda Department of Ha Long City Party Committee, said: Ha Long City has launched a peak campaign "7 days and nights to overcome the consequences of storm No. 3". For the tourism industry, the top priority is to ensure conditions to welcome guests back soon. Businesses proactively repair facilities, maintain good service for pre-booked groups and new groups.

Not only the determination of enterprises, on September 12, Ha Long City Party Committee organized a meeting and worked with representatives of enterprises in the area, including tourism enterprises, to find solutions to remove difficulties in tax policies, bank loans, debt repayment restructuring; consider exempting and reducing loan interest; restoring production... In addition, the city will propose to the Provincial People's Committee a number of specific policies to support tourism enterprises in particular, and the business system in general, which suffered damage after the storm.

Since the beginning of the year, Ha Long City has welcomed over 9 million visitors, including nearly 2.1 million international visitors. With the mindset of an international tourist city, Ha Long is always ready to overcome challenges, quickly recover, and realize the goal of welcoming over 9.5 million visitors in 2024.
