- The 2020 - 2025 term is a special period for De Gi when it both carries out the tasks of each locality before the merger and prepares for a major transformation. In that context, the Party Committee, government and people have united, been creative, and achieved many comprehensive results.
Regarding Party building, we persistently improve the leadership capacity and fighting strength of grassroots Party organizations; focus on political and ideological education for cadres and Party members; strictly implement regulations on setting examples and revolutionary ethics; protect the Party's ideological foundation and strengthen the people's trust.
The economy has shifted positively: Agriculture - forestry - fishery still plays a fundamental role, while industry - construction, trade - services have increased significantly. Saltwater and brackish water aquaculture has developed strongly; trade - services are vibrant; community tourism and resorts have initially taken shape. The average economic growth rate reached 13.57%/year, exceeding the Resolution by 1.67%; average income per capita reached 66.8 million VND/year.
In 2024, Cat Khanh commune (old) was recognized as a town, an important step forward in urbanization. The new rural construction program achieved outstanding results, mobilizing more than 1,248 billion VND for infrastructure investment; Cat Minh commune (old) was recognized as a model new rural area, Cat Tai commune (old) met the advanced new rural standards. The rural landscape has improved, people's lives have been improved, creating a solid foundation for the coming period.

* The 2025 - 2030 term opens in the context of many major changes in administrative organization. What key tasks will De Gi commune focus on?

- Immediately after the merger, we prioritized stabilizing the apparatus, building a team of cadres and party members who are politically steadfast, professionally skilled, dare to think, dare to do, dare to take responsibility, and are devoted to the people.
Next, integrate and adjust the development planning of the three previous localities into the master plan of De Gi commune - both inheriting and innovating, developing in balance between regions, maximizing comparative advantages. The goal is to turn De Gi into a strong comprehensive economic area of the region, developing multi-industry, notably a high-quality urban area associated with trade - services, marine industry, sea and island tourism, eco-tourism, craft villages, with its own brand "De Gi: The sea calls, the mountains wait".

* What will be the breakthroughs for De Gi to create rapid and sustainable changes, comrade?

- We identify 4 breakthroughs to promote rapid and sustainable development. That is, promptly concretize important resolutions; build a streamlined government apparatus that operates effectively and efficiently; promote digital government and form an innovative ecosystem. Strongly apply science and technology and digital transformation in all fields; at the same time, improve the quality of cadres and civil servants to meet new requirements. Focus on investing in transport infrastructure, trade, services, tourism and digital infrastructure, creating breakthrough growth momentum. Convert crop structure appropriately, develop high-value agriculture, green agriculture; build civilized and modern new rural areas.
