Dr. Nguyen Tat Trung, Head of the Planning and Synthesis Department and Secretary of the Youth Union at Dong Nai General Hospital, said: Previously, Cho Ray Hospital supplied the hospital with about 300 units of blood per week. However, recently, due to a shortage of blood reserves, the hospital only receives about 200 units of blood, leading to a shortage of blood reserves for emergency and treatment purposes at the hospital.
Therefore, the hospital is coordinating blood donation programs to increase blood reserves, meet emergency and treatment needs, and give patients in need of blood a better chance of receiving treatment. In the future, the hospital will coordinate and implement more voluntary blood donation drives.

Mr. Ha Trung Kien, Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial Red Cross Society, said: After receiving donated blood at Dong Nai General Hospital, the Blood Transfusion Center of Cho Ray Hospital will screen and distribute it to hospitals in the Southeast region. This is very important because there is currently a peak period of blood shortage. Having hundreds of additional units of blood will help hospitals have more blood reserves, serving emergency care and treatment for patients better.
