Specialist Doctor I Nguyen Tat Trung, Head of Planning and Synthesis Department, Secretary of the Youth Union of Dong Nai General Hospital said: Previously, Cho Ray Hospital supplied the hospital with about 300 units of blood each week. However, recently, due to the scarcity of blood reserves, the hospital has only been supplied with about 200 units of blood, leading to a shortage of blood reserves for emergency and treatment work at the hospital.
Therefore, the hospital coordinated to organize a blood donation program to have more blood reserves, respond to emergency and treatment work, and help patients in need of blood have better treatment opportunities. In the near future, the hospital will coordinate to implement more voluntary blood donation campaigns.

Mr. Ha Trung Kien, Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Red Cross Society, said: After receiving donated blood at Dong Nai General Hospital, the Cho Ray Hospital Blood Transfusion Center will screen and distribute it to hospitals in the Southeast region. This is very important because it is currently the peak period of blood shortage. Having hundreds of additional blood units will help hospitals have more blood reserves, serving emergency work and better treating patients.
