At the ceremony, Deputy General Director of Voice of Vietnam Vu Hai Quang said that the South Central Broadcasting Station is an important piece of the national key radio broadcasting system, contributing to helping Voice of Vietnam better fulfill the political tasks assigned by the Party and State.

The Broadcasting Station is invested by the Radio and Television Technical Center of the Voice of Vietnam with a capital of 327 billion VND. The station has a medium-wave (AM) radio system with a capacity of 400kW, frequency of 1071kHz, with modern techniques and technology, ready to switch to digital radio according to DRM standards in line with the development trend of radio in the world . The broadcasting station will broadcast the News Channel (VOV1) and the Foreign Radio Channel (VOV5).

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, President Vo Van Thuong congratulated all leaders, cadres, employees and workers of Voice of Vietnam on the inauguration of the South Central Broadcasting Station on the occasion of the 98th anniversary of Revolutionary Press Day, praising the Station for its great efforts and overcoming difficulties to complete this important project.

“From my experience listening to the radio, with the importance of radio and the inauguration of the broadcasting station today, I suggest that the Voice of Vietnam continue to invest in improving the quality of news and articles, to best meet the increasing information needs of listeners, especially fishermen at sea, officers and soldiers on islands in Truong Sa island district, and on vehicles on duty at sea,” the President requested.
