According to statistics, in the first six months of 2025, Hanoi welcomed approximately 15.55 million visitors, an increase of nearly 12% compared to the same period last year. Of these, international visitors reached 3.66 million – an impressive growth of 21.8%, while domestic visitors reached nearly 12 million. Total revenue from tourism is estimated at over 62,000 billion VND.

Not only has Hanoi experienced a strong recovery in tourist numbers, but it has also consistently been recognized on the international tourism map with titles such as: Top 3 most popular destinations globally (TripAdvisor), Top 25 most loved destinations of all time, and Top 11 most attractive cities in the world (Time Out magazine).

At the conference, Mr. Tran Trung Hieu announced a list of new tourism products to be launched from now until the end of the year. Highlights include a group of 20 night-time tourism products, among which is the "Tran Vu Bell" program at Quan Thanh Temple, recreating the spiritual and cultural atmosphere of Hanoi at night through sound, light, and traditional art performances. In addition, Hanoi will launch two unique routes: the "South Thang Long Heritage Route" and the "Road of Learning," taking tourists on a journey through historical sites, ancient villages, and temples associated with the educational and cultural history of Thang Long - Hanoi.

New creative spaces such as the "Truc Bach Subsidy Street," "Train Car No. 6 - Leng Keng Heritage," or a tour exploring the Dao ethnic group's traditional medicine village in Ban Mien (Ba Vi) will also be implemented, offering check-in points with Hanoi's unique character while meeting the personalized travel needs of young tourists.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Hoang Quoc Hoa, Director of the Tourism Information Center (Vietnam National Tourism Administration), affirmed that the conference to implement the plan to stimulate tourism products in Hanoi in 2025, organized by the Hanoi Department of Tourism, is an important and very practical activity to join hands with localities nationwide in responding to the 2025 tourism stimulus program launched by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

In particular, Mr. Hoa emphasized the role of media and promotion in spreading the image of Vietnamese tourism. The Tourism Information Center has intensified the introduction of outstanding Vietnamese tourist destinations, products, and services on the vietnam.travel website and the social media pages of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration to international tourist markets. The good news is that according to data from similarweb.com – a global website ranking and evaluation website – by March 2025, the website...   vietnam.travel   The Vietnam National Tourism Administration's website has risen to second place in Southeast Asia, behind only Thailand's tourism website. Within the framework of the recent P4G Summit held in Hanoi, the Tourism Information Center produced three videos promoting Vietnam's tourism and the capital city, which were screened on the sidelines of the Summit and on LED screens throughout the city.

Regarding the application of technology, Mr. Hoa said that the Tourism Information Center is coordinating with Hanoi to implement an online, interconnected, multi-modal electronic ticketing system at major historical sites such as the Temple of Literature - National University, the Ho Chi Minh Presidential Palace historical site, Quan Thanh Temple, the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum, the National History Museum, the Heritage House at 87 Ma May Street, and the historical site at 22 Hang Buom Street... This is considered a "breakthrough solution" to enhance the visitor experience and smart destination management.

“To promote tourism development in Hanoi in particular and Vietnam in general, a coordinated effort from all stakeholders is needed, from management agencies to businesses and destinations… The Tourism Information Center is committed to always accompanying the Hanoi tourism industry as well as localities nationwide to effectively implement communication, promotion, tourism stimulus, technology application and digital transformation activities in the coming time,” affirmed Hoang Quoc Hoa, Director of the Tourism Information Center.

Products to stimulate demand   "Back to the Source" comes from the tourism association led by her.   Thai Thi Thanh Lan   - The presentation by the head of the Captour Club received considerable attention from many delegates. The two main tours, "Journey to the Roots" and "Awakening in Ba Vi," are tours connecting history, culture, and spirituality, organized around September 2nd, as a tribute to the past and an exploration of the profound cultural values of Vietnam.

According to Ms. Thai Thi Thanh Lan: “With history, we cannot ‘renew’ it, but this is a flagship product with the desire to ‘renew’ things that seem old. ‘Returning to the roots’ means returning to the past, and that glorious past serves as a driving force to promote and develop the future.” “Journey to the Roots” helps visitors live with history, to understand and appreciate the value of their origins. “Awakening in Ba Vi” encourages experiencing nature, history, spirituality, and people, so that each individual can renew themselves in a land rich in identity.

Furthermore, Ms. Lan also offered several heartfelt suggestions to make the stimulus products more effective: Diverse products, with significant support from night flights, but a more detailed plan is needed to create a synchronized and complete service chain. A longer promotional period is needed to allow tourists to better prepare their travel plans. More tourism products should be developed in suburban areas such as Ba Vi and Dong Anh... to reduce pressure on the city center during holidays. In addition, improving service quality is an old but always urgent issue, Ms. Lan emphasized.

The new symbol of Hanoi's railway tourism.

One of the highlights of the conference was the presentation of the "Five-Gateway Train" product by Mr. Ha Trong Thang, Deputy General Director of the Vietnam Railway Transport Corporation. The project is expected to create a unique railway tourism product, connecting Hanoi with neighboring heritage areas.

According to Mr. Thang, the train will feature a new, luxurious interior design, incorporating a bar, a stage for performing folk art such as Xam, Cheo, and Chau Van, and a scenic viewing area through skylights. The train will run two daily trips from Hanoi, stopping at Tu Son station (Bac Ninh) and connecting to Den Do Temple and local markets via electric tram; in the evening, it will run around the Hanoi ring road. Each trip will take approximately 3 hours. The train is scheduled to depart on August 19, 2025, coinciding with the anniversary of the August Revolution, as a message that "tourism is a bridge between the past and the present."

Responding to feedback, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism Tran Trung Hieu urged travel agencies, accommodation providers, and transportation companies to promptly plan and register their promotional products. He also requested that associations, businesses, and clubs continue to be close partners. Accordingly, Hanoi will compile and support the promotion of good, creative, and practical products.

“Hanoi is not just a place to stop, but a place worth staying; a place where each visitor can continue their emotional journey. And tourism products are the first touchpoint on that journey,” Mr. Tran Trung Hieu affirmed at the end of the conference.
