BHG - With the advantage of being a locality with rich potential for tourism development, our province has determined to develop tourism into a "spearhead" economic sector, contributing to creating livelihoods for people to rise up to reduce poverty and get rich right on the northernmost homeland.
Realizing the breakthrough of the Resolution of the 17th Provincial Party Congress on tourism development, all levels, sectors and localities in the province are determined to promote tourism with many effective solutions to form 3 tourism spaces, each space has many unique and attractive products, including: Western tourism space with the main tourism product being the National Landscape of Terraced Fields; the central space with the typical product being spiritual tourism; the Northern space is the product of the Dong Van Karst Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark. From the main products, each space has many supporting products such as: Ethnic cultural products, ecological resort products, entertainment products; agricultural tourism products... forming more than 90 operating tourism points, creating a unique and attractive chain throughout the four seasons of the year.

Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Hong Hai said: Currently, the tourism infrastructure system is constantly developing, the whole province has 54 enterprises and cooperatives with industry codes and functions of doing business in travel services; nearly 900 tourism accommodation establishments, including 108 hotels with nearly 8,000 rooms, over 15.5 thousand beds; nearly 3,200 food service establishments. Human resources are consolidated in both quantity and quality. The number of workers in the tourism industry is nearly 12,000 people, of which direct workers are about 6,000 people. The number of workers trained and coached according to the human resource development project is over 1,700 people. Tourism promotion work is focused on, innovated, and targets the international and domestic tourist markets. On the other hand, regional cooperation activities are constantly expanding, creating a chain of linked products bearing the mark of each region.
With the impression of Ha Giang land and people, along with effective promotion and advertising solutions, our province has welcomed over 2.2 million tourists in 2022, of which international visitors reached over 71 thousand. Tourism service revenue is estimated at over 4.5 trillion VND. In the first 9 months of 2023, the province welcomed over 2.1 million visitors, tourism service revenue reached over 5 trillion VND. Visitors to the province are mainly recorded from the southern market of our country and over 160 countries and territories. In recent years, tourism in the province has always been voted as an attractive, unique, wild, majestic and friendly tourist destination. The New York Times magazine (USA) voted Ha Giang 25th out of 52 most attractive destinations in the world. Canadian newspaper "The Trave" voted Ha Giang as one of the 10 most beautiful destinations in Vietnam. Recently, Ha Giang was awarded the "Asia's Leading Emerging Tourism Destination" award in 2023 by the World Travel Awards - WTA.

From now until the end of the year is considered the golden time to accelerate tourism, our province is determined to turn the "spearhead" economic sector into an important pillar contributing to promoting the province's socio-economic development towards green and sustainable growth. Focus on raising awareness, renewing thinking about tourism development; effectively implementing the planning, projects, and plans on tourism development that have been issued. Restructuring the tourism industry towards professionalism, modernity, quality, and sustainability; in which, focusing on implementing the planning of the Dong Van Stone Plateau National Tourism Area. Developing rich, diverse, and highly competitive tourism products, focusing on 5 types of products: community tourism, cultural tourism, eco-resort tourism, sports-adventure tourism, and trade-border tourism. Developing traditional craft villages; typical goods, OCOP products, and souvenirs to serve the shopping needs of tourists.
Invest in renovating historical and cultural relics, typical landscapes; restore festivals, forms of cultural and artistic activities, select a number of typical local festivals to become typical regional festivals to attract tourists. Build and perfect institutions, mechanisms and policies to promote tourism development. Create maximum convenience and simplify procedures, reduce licensing costs for international tourists to the locality. Create a favorable environment for businesses and communities to participate in tourism activities. Effectively implement policies to support tourism development. Increase investment attraction, develop tourism with focus and key points; prioritize the allocation of state budget capital for investment in tourism infrastructure development. Promote the construction of transport infrastructure projects, improve connectivity to tourism areas and points.
Innovate and improve the quality of content and investment promotion activities, promote the tourism potential of the province. Improve the quality of human resources to meet the requirements of tourism and service development. Improve the capacity of state management and business administration in the tourism sector; improve the quality of staff in terms of professional expertise, foreign languages and professional ethics, to meet the requirements of competition and integration. Remove difficulties and obstacles for businesses operating in tourism services. Strengthen control of compliance with state regulations in tourism business activities; effectively resolve issues related to the natural and social environment, creating conditions for sustainable tourism development.
