Jen Mendelewitsch, a representative of FIFA, criticized Felix in front of the press. He said: "He is no longer a football player, but a money-making machine. Felix has not played football for a long time. Everything now revolves around money for him, and Felix himself accepts that without protest."
Felix joined Atletico Madrid for a record €126 million, but failed to find a place in the club's squad. Chelsea then paid €50 million to bring him back, but things didn't improve either. Now, at the age of 25, Felix has agreed to move to Saudi Arabia to play for Al Nassr.
According to The Sun , both sides have reached a personal agreement, with a transfer fee of £44 million and a five-year contract. Al Nassr, a team with strong financial support from the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund (PIF), proposed a salary of up to £22 million per year, equivalent to about £420,000 per week.
Jen Mendelewitsch believes Felix should be the one to shape his career instead of letting others decide for him. "Seeing Felix's potential not being realized is truly regrettable," said the FIFA representative.
Before deciding to move to Saudi Arabia, Felix had intended to return to Benfica to revive his career in this summer transfer window. However, with the interest from Al Nassr, everything changed quickly.
