Bold strategy for a new decade
Ferrari is preparing for the most intense product development period in the brand's history. The Italian sports car company has announced plans to launch 20 new models in the five-year period from 2026 to 2030, or an average of four models per year. The strategy comes amid impressive financial success for Ferrari, with profits rising 9% in the first half of 2025 and a profit margin of 23.4%, the highest in the auto industry.
With record sales of 13,752 cars in 2024, Ferrari has proven its enduring appeal. However, instead of chasing numbers, CEO Benedetto Vigna affirmed that the company's philosophy remains "many models but each model in limited numbers", to preserve exclusivity and brand value.

Elettrica: The debut of the electric prancing horse
At the heart of Ferrari’s future plans is the arrival of its first all-electric model, the Elettrica. This is a revolutionary step, marking the brand’s entry into the electrification era. The Elettrica is equipped with four electric motors, producing a total output of more than 1,000 horsepower.
The performance figures for this electric supercar are impressive: it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds and has a top speed of 310 km/h. Ferrari promises that the Elettrica will deliver a distinctively exciting driving experience, including sound, opening up a new definition of emotion behind the wheel of an electric car.

Diversification strategy and commitment to heritage
Despite the introduction of electric vehicles, Ferrari is maintaining a diversified powertrain strategy. By 2030, the company expects its product mix to be 40% internal combustion engine (ICE), 40% hybrid, and 20% pure electric (EV). This represents a revision from the 40% EV target set for 2022, reflecting a more realistic assessment of the pace of market transition.
More importantly, Ferrari reaffirms its strong commitment to the internal combustion engines that made its name, especially the legendary V12. This ensures that loyal fans will still have the opportunity to own pure mechanical machines for many years to come.

Future Icons and Unexpected Comebacks
In addition to the Elettrica, the future product portfolio will include upgraded versions of the Ferrari 296, a PHEV variant of the Purosangue SUV, and convertible versions of the Amalfi and F80. In particular, the Icona Series, which pays tribute to the brand's heritage, will continue to be developed.
There are reports that a new Icona, possibly the SP4, will use a naturally aspirated 6.5L V12. Another could be inspired by the legendary Ferrari F40. Most intriguingly, product development chief Gianmaria Fulgenzi hinted that some special customers are asking for a manual transmission to return to a limited-run Icona. This is a surprising possibility, as Ferrari hasn’t offered a manual transmission since the 2012 California.

Balancing growth and exclusivity
Ferrari’s appeal remains undiminished. Mr. Vigna revealed that all production for 2026 has been booked, with new customers having to wait until 2027 to take delivery. Ferrari’s existing customer base has increased by 20% compared to 2022, reaching around 90,000, along with more than 32,000 first-time Ferrari owners. By diversifying its portfolio but limiting production of each model, Ferrari is executing a smart strategy to both expand its customer base and maintain the desirability and value of each car bearing the Prancing Horse logo.
