The gift not only has material value but also represents a spiritual sharing, demonstrating the social responsibility and kindness of the medical staff of SIS Can Tho Hospital. The representative of My Thai commune leadership expressed deep gratitude for the timely support, saying that the money will be transferred to 70 households in Hong Giang village, which suffered great damage in the recent flood.
According to statistics, the floods have caused more than 300 hectares of unharvested rice and corn to be flooded, 211 hectares of aquaculture area to overflow, and many households had to be urgently evacuated. Some traffic and irrigation works suffered serious landslides such as the level 3 dike in Cong Phen village, Duc Tho dike, and the important Dam Nung dike in Thuan village. Many houses were damaged, surrounding walls collapsed, and intra-village traffic was partially cut off, greatly affecting the lives and activities of the people.
The noble gesture of SIS Can Tho International General Hospital has added confidence and motivation for people in flood-affected areas to overcome difficulties, gradually stabilize their lives, join hands to build their homeland and build new rural areas.
