With humanitarian programs such as “Godmother” or the creative model “Recycled Scrap”, the Women’s Union of Hoan Long commune has become a solid support for many women and children in difficult circumstances. From the persistent companionship with orphans to turning scrap into meaningful gifts, love is spreading strongly in the community.

Hoan Long Commune Women's Union grants "Godmother" sponsorship to orphans.
 Support from the program "Godmother"
The Association has proactively raised funds, mobilized social resources, and closely connected with the government and philanthropists to ensure stable care resources for the children. Currently, the whole commune has 6 orphans who have been sponsored by the Association. From the beginning of 2025 until now, the total amount of support has reached 36 million VND, equivalent to 6 million VND/child. More importantly than material support, the "godmothers" also regularly visit, encourage the children, and become trusted companions in their studies and life.
A typical example is the situation of Nguyen Thi Phuong Anh (born in 2017) in Ngan Hanh village. Her father died early, her mother is in poor health, and she raises two children alone, making life extremely difficult. It seemed that her dream of going to school would be unfulfilled, but since being sponsored by the Association, Phuong Anh's path to education has become less bumpy. Moved by the community's concern, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Nam, Phuong Anh's mother, shared: "The Association's concern is a huge source of encouragement, helping my children and I gain more determination to overcome difficulties, giving the children better learning conditions."
The “Godmother” program in Hoan Long not only provides practical support, but also builds trust and spiritual support for less fortunate children. Vu Minh Thi (born in 2013) in Dong Tao Nam village, one of the sponsored children, confided: “Thanks to the help of the Association and the aunts and uncles, I have more books and new clothes to go to school. I will try to study well so as not to let everyone down.”

Members of the Women's Union of Hoan Long commune collect scrap to raise funds to support women and children in difficult circumstances.
 Collect love from simple things
Not only stopping at fundraising, the creativity of women in Hoan Long commune is also demonstrated through the model of "Recycling scrap". This activity brings double benefits: it contributes to protecting the green - clean - beautiful living environment, and raises funds to promptly help women members in difficult circumstances.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh, Branch President   Dong Tao Dong Village Women's Union   said:   Since 2017, the association has launched the “Clean Scrap” model, mobilizing members to collect plastic bottles, beer cans, cardboard, scrap metal, etc. to sell to raise funds. Although the amount of money collected is not large, the association maintains it regularly to buy rice to give to the most disadvantaged members in the village. Currently, the association is regularly supporting 4 women with rice, each person 10 kg/month.
With more than 4,500 members operating in 15 branches, the Women's Union of Hoan Long commune is truly a common home, a place to connect and share. From savings in "plastic piggy banks" to discarded bottles and pieces of paper, all are contributed by members, creating a source of love that spreads continuously. From these models, at the end of September 2025, the Women's Union of Hoan Long commune allocated funds to give 12 gifts, each worth 300,000 VND, to female members in difficult circumstances with a total value of 3.6 million VND.
Ms. Chu Thi Ha, President of the Women's Union of Hoan Long commune affirmed:   The Association always pays special attention to poor women and orphans. We not only give gifts but also assign members to regularly visit and understand the thoughts and wishes of the families. Each portion of rice and each gift, though small, contains great affection, helping the women to ease their worries and the orphans to feel protected. In the coming time, the Association will continue to mobilize the support of organizations, businesses and philanthropists to bring love to more lives, contributing to the good implementation of social security work in the locality."
