Connecting ideas with actions

Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle are carried out by cadres, party members and people of Vinh Trach commune through daily activities. The locality focuses on discovering and praising good people and good deeds, promptly rewarding and creating motivation to spread the movement for the community.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune always innovates its activities towards being close to the people. Dialogue sessions to listen to people's voices organized in each hamlet help the government grasp their thoughts and legitimate recommendations for effective and focused handling.

The emulation movement “Skilled mass mobilization” is closely linked to the new rural construction program, arousing the spirit of solidarity, supporting each other to develop the economy and improve the local appearance. Many practical models have been born such as the “Warm House of Love” Association supporting the construction of solidarity houses; lending capital to poor households to raise cows and goats; security camera model, building flower roads, green, clean and beautiful roads...

The “telling” numbers show the clear effectiveness of social security work. The Commune Fund for the Poor has mobilized more than 9.3 billion VND, including cash and goods. From this resource, the locality has built and repaired 54 solidarity houses, given more than 10,280 gifts to poor households, and built 5 rural bridges, contributing to improving people's lives.

15 years of sowing love

One of the typical models in Vinh Trach commune is the charity canteen, which has been operating steadily for the past 15 years, becoming a support for thousands of poor students going to school. Before 2010, many students had to skip school in the afternoon due to lack of lunch. Faced with this situation, the Executive Committee of the Hoa Hao Buddhist Sangha of Vinh Trach commune coordinated with the government, the Fatherland Front and the people to build a charity canteen. This canteen officially operated from October 1, 2010, with voluntary contributions from members.

Initially serving only 70-80 meals/day, up to now, the charity canteen has been stably serving more than 300 lunches per day for students of all levels. The service members all work voluntarily, without receiving any remuneration. They are followers of Hoa Hao Buddhism. Under the guidance of Mr. Vo Van Tuan - Head of the Executive Committee of the Hoa Hao Buddhist Sangha of Vinh Trach commune, all operations, from cooking to logistics, are coordinated smoothly, ensuring stable operations.

According to Mr. Tuan, the total cost of operating the charity canteen over the past 15 years has been more than 8.2 billion VND, of which more than 6.6 billion VND is for cooking, the rest is for expanding the facility, equipping equipment and supporting ambulances to serve the community. "We hope these simple meals will help children study with peace of mind and become useful citizens. In the coming time, the canteen's management board will continue to mobilize social resources, improve the quality of meals and expand the service target, especially students in difficult areas," said Mr. Tuan.

Ms. Nguyen Kim Dung - owner of Tho plowing facility, Long Xuyen ward shared: “I was born into a farming family so I understand the hardships of the people. When I learned about the charity kitchen, I was truly impressed by the kindness of the ladies and gentlemen here. Every month, I send necessities and encourage my friends to join in supporting. We just hope that the students' meals will be more complete, helping them have the motivation to study.”

Each portion of rice given away is a seed of goodness. Huynh Gia Kiet, a student of class 11A8, Vinh Trach High School, was moved: “Each meal at the charity cafeteria not only helps us feel full but also gives us more faith and determination to study. The love of the aunts and uncles is the motivation for us to strive, continuing the spirit of sharing of our homeland.”

With the spirit of solidarity, dedication and cooperation of the whole society, Vinh Trach has been building the image of a model locality in mobilizing, caring for social security and sustainable development.
