'Pride of Vietnamese Farmers 2025': The mark of 13 years of cooperation for farmers and the country's agriculture

Over the past 13 years, the program “Pride of Vietnamese Farmers” organized by Nong Thon Ngay Nay Newspaper, Dan Viet in collaboration with Binh Dien Fertilizer Joint Stock Company has become a symbol of solidarity, spreading the spirit of innovation for farmers and Vietnamese agriculture. This year, the event is even more special as it takes place on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Farmers’ Association.

The series of events "Pride of Vietnamese Farmers 2025" organized by Nong Thon Ngay Nay Newspaper, Dan Viet Electronics in collaboration with Binh Dien Fertilizer Joint Stock Company ended with two outstanding highlights: The meeting with General Secretary To Lam on the afternoon of October 14 and the ceremony to honor 63 outstanding Vietnamese farmers and 32 scientists of farmers 2025 on the same evening at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Cultural Palace.

Since 2013, the program has been constantly renewed. This year, it is even more impressive as it takes place on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the Vietnam Farmers' Association and in the context of the country focusing on digital transformation and innovation.

On the afternoon of October 14, at the Party Central Committee headquarters, General Secretary To Lam had a meeting with 95 delegates, including 63 outstanding farmers and 32 farmers' scientists. This was a solemn opening activity for a series of events, demonstrating the special attention of the Party and State to the peasant class, a force that plays a strategic role in socio-economic development.

Speaking at the meeting, the General Secretary highly appreciated the initiatives and scientific topics that bring productivity, quality and added value to Vietnamese agricultural products, forming a class of modern farmers and a team of "farmer scientists" - those who bring knowledge and technology to fields, farms and factories.

The General Secretary emphasized that throughout the nation’s journey, farmers have always been a strategic force, both as food producers and as creators, preservers and developers of culture, and as the foundation of national solidarity. Farmers are the ones who have made miracles in the renovation period, contributing to changing the nation’s destiny.

At the meeting, farmers and scientists had exchanges and expressed their thoughts and aspirations directly to the General Secretary. The meeting was therefore not only a ceremony of honor but also a dialogue between senior leaders and farmers at the grassroots level, thereby affirming the central role of farmers in the strategy of developing modern and sustainable agriculture.

Honor Night - where Vietnamese pride spreads

On the same evening, at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Cultural Palace, the Ceremony to honor outstanding Vietnamese farmers and scientists of farmers in 2025 took place in a solemn and emotional atmosphere. The program was broadcast live on VTV1.

The event honored 63 outstanding Vietnamese farmers - individuals who are typical in the movement of good production and business, and 32 scientists of farmers, intellectuals who are dedicated to high-tech agriculture. These are the faces carefully selected from millions of farmers and scientists across the country, representing the quintessence, intelligence and aspirations of Vietnamese agriculture.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Luong Cuong affirmed that the 63 outstanding farmers represent more than 3.6 million good production and business households in the country. They are truly exemplary role models, inspiring the desire to contribute and build a prosperous and happy country.

Along with that, honoring scientists of farmers continues to affirm the close relationship between knowledge and practice, between laboratory and field. Their contributions to plant varieties, livestock, cultivation techniques, processing, etc. are helping farmers increase the value of agricultural products every day, bringing the Vietnamese agricultural brand far and wide.
