At the signing ceremony of the purchase and technology transfer on May 6, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Duy - General Director of TD Tech said that FV is the first hospital in Vietnam and also the first hospital in Southeast Asia to be equipped with CyberKnife S7. This latest generation of radiosurgery machines is also applied in non-invasive treatment of many other diseases besides cancer such as cerebral vascular malformations, heart rhythms, etc.
CyberKnife S7 is the world 's only non-invasive robotic radiosurgery system that treats tumors anywhere on the body.
Radiosurgery is an advanced treatment method that uses radiation beams instead of scalpels to destroy tumors. CyberKnife was first invented in 1990 by Dr. John R Adler, a neurosurgeon at Stanford University. After more than 30 years of clinical application and 7 improvements, this system has been clinically proven effective with more than 5,000 research articles published in the world's leading scientific journals.
As the latest version, CyberKnife S7 has been revolutionizing the field of cancer treatment with minimally invasive radiosurgery. CyberKnife S7 is capable of treating many types of tumors in any location on the body with incredible precision. In particular, this system also allows intervention in moving tumors, while enhancing safety, shortening treatment time and significantly reducing side effects.
“This is the only radiosurgery robot in the world that can be personalized in cancer treatment, called real-time radiotherapy. CyberKnife S7 uses artificial intelligence to monitor the tumor during treatment to adjust the path accordingly when the patient breathes or the tumor moves. Thanks to that, the treatment time for the patient is reduced by ½ to ⅓, while increasing the quality of treatment,” said Mr. Nguyen Thanh Duy.
The unique feature of CyberKnife S7 is the application of real-time image guidance technology and a robotic arm with a linear accelerator with 6 degrees of freedom of movement in 3D space, for flexible movements, capable of targeting tumors under 1mm. This incredible precision allows the system to focus the maximum radiation dose on the tumor, effectively destroying cancer cells.

Explaining why FV Hospital decided to invest in the world's leading modern radiosurgery machine, Dr. Jean-Marcel Guillon - General Director of FV Hospital said: "This is a modern cancer treatment device, equipped by major hospitals around the world, allowing doctors to destroy very small cancer cells, in difficult locations and throughout the body. With the investment in this device, FV Hospital's Hy Vong Cancer Treatment Center will officially step up to a new level, becoming a pioneer center in the region in cancer treatment."
