
With the slogan “Vietnamese Cinema - Sustainable Development and International Integration in the New Era”, the 24th Vietnam Film Festival fully promotes the spirit of welcoming the beginning of an era of growth - an era in which Vietnam determines the direction of strong development, deep and sustainable integration, the country enters a new stage of development, affirming its position in the international arena.
The Film Festival is expected to introduce to the public new works of Vietnamese cinema to create opportunities for contact, dialogue and exchange between artists, filmmakers and audiences, contributing to understanding the needs and tastes of the public in cinema; improving professionalism in cinema activities; creating conditions for cinema artists, managers, film creators, producers, distributors and distributors to exchange experiences, promoting the development of the film industry.

At the same time, this is an event to honor Vietnamese cinematographic works with strong national identity, rich in humanity, and creative imprints; and to honor cinema artists with outstanding achievements since the 23rd Vietnam Film Festival to date.
At the press conference, the Organizing Committee said that the 24th Vietnam Film Festival had the participation of more than 800 guests, including many artists, film producers, distributors, distributors, film organizations, film and media companies with competing films and films screened at the festival, along with many international delegates and diplomatic representatives.

According to Mr. Dang Tran Cuong, Director of the Department of Cinema, the 24th Vietnam Film Festival has selected 144 outstanding films from 42 units. The competition program includes 16 feature films, 36 documentaries, 14 scientific films and 21 animated films.
In addition, the Film Festival has 57 films of various genres included in the panoramic film program.
All films are shown at 3 locations: Galaxy Park Mall-Parc Mall-Ta Quang Buu Commercial Center; CGV Hung Vuong Plaza and Cinestar Hai Ba Trung, giving the audience an overview of the strong and colorful development of Vietnamese cinema in the past two years (since the 23rd Vietnam Film Festival held in 2023).
This festival includes awards for films (Golden Lotus, Silver Lotus, Jury Award, Cinematography) and awards for individuals (Outstanding Director, Outstanding Screenwriter, Outstanding Debut Director, Outstanding Cinematography, Outstanding Actress, Outstanding Actor, Outstanding Supporting Actress, Outstanding Supporting Actor, Outstanding Artist, Outstanding Music, Outstanding Sound).

In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded the "Most Favorite Vietnamese Film" award voted by the audience for feature films participating in the Panorama Film Program; Awards/Certificates of Merit from agencies, unions and social organizations.
At the press conference, People's Artist Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, Deputy Director of the City Department of Culture and Sports, said that in addition to the opening and closing programs, the 24th Vietnam Film Festival also has activities such as: Film week to welcome the film festival; photo exhibition "Ho Chi Minh City rises with the country through the perspective of cinema"; workshop; learning about the management and operation model of Beta Cinemas theater cluster; meeting with local delegations chaired by leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; art program "Music and fashion show in movies"; exchange programs...
At the press conference, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong informed that in order to share the difficulties and losses of people in the central region affected by floods, each activity at this Film Festival will have a QR code of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee for artists and audiences to attend to express their hearts towards their compatriots.
The festival is an opportunity to honor outstanding cinematographic works and collectives and individuals who have contributed to the development of the country's cinema; at the same time, affirm the position of Vietnamese cinema in the process of innovation, integration and development.
With close coordination between the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, this year's Film Festival promises to bring a unique artistic space, spreading the love of cinema, contributing to promoting the image of the country and people of Vietnam to international friends.
Lasts from November 21-25 in Ho Chi Minh City. The opening ceremony takes place at 8:00 p.m. on November 21 at Thong Nhat Hall.
