In recent days, social networks have been in an uproar after two young men acted disrespectfully and rudely towards veterans on the occasion of April 30.
However, the wave of public opinion was calmed by the good deed of another group of young people. With quickness and a spirit of sharing, a group of 6 students had a respectable act when they invited two war veterans to have more convenient seats to watch the parade.
A group of students acted beautifully, giving up their seats to veterans.
The moment when two generations sit together and talk about the glorious history of the nation
Sharing with reporters on the morning of May 3, Duong Hoang Dung, a student majoring in sociology at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU-HCM), said that the loud argument between the two veterans and the group of young people occurred late on April 29 and early on April 30. At that time, the crowd pouring into the center was too large, so there was a jostling situation.
"There were 3 elderly people, 2 of them were veterans and one was their wife. Because there were too many people, they wanted to stand in a more comfortable position, so they asked the group of young people to let them move to the inside row. However, the two sides had a conflict and argued. Seeing that, our group proactively invited the 3 elderly people to sit with them," Dung said.
Dung said that at first, the men were shy so they didn't talk much. About 30 minutes later, they were enthusiastically sharing about the heroic memories of a glorious war time. "Giving up seats is just a small thing. It's natural for young people to give up seats to older people, especially since you are veterans and people who have contributed to the country. I don't think it's necessary to argue or raise your voice at each other, especially in crowded places" - Dung shared.
A group of students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities caused a stir with their beautiful actions.
In addition to the two veterans whose seats the group gave up, on this occasion Hoang Dung had the opportunity to meet many other soldiers, military personnel and veterans.
Female student Nguyen Ngoc Tuyen said that the two men shared that they were both special forces soldiers, traveling from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City to attend the ceremony. On their chests were solemn medals.
"Listening to heroic historical stories in the atmosphere of 50 years of national independence and unification is a wonderful thing" - Tuyen expressed.
A representative of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities said the school feels very happy and proud because the beautiful actions of young people have been widely spread.
"I believe that today's young generation, who have inherited a decenteducation based on peace and independence, will certainly have humane and proper actions and attitudes, not just students of any particular school," said a school representative.
