Supply concerns are supporting coffee prices. Vietnam’s coffee output in the current crop year (October 2024 to September 2025) is expected to reach around 26.5 million bags. The next harvest, from October 2025 to September 2026, could reach 28 million bags.
World coffee prices today
At the end of last week, the online price of Robusta coffee for May 2025 delivery on the London Stock Exchange stood at 5,253 USD/ton, up 3% (154 USD/ton) compared to the previous week; the contract for July 2025 delivery reached 5,277 USD/ton, up 4.5% (228 USD/ton).
On the New York Stock Exchange, the price of Arabica coffee for delivery in May 2025 increased by 4.3% (15.5 US cents/pound) compared to the previous week, to 375.5 US cents/pound; the contract for delivery in July 2025 was at 372.6 US cents/pound, up 5.4% (19 US cents/pound).
During the Easter holiday, the world coffee market is closed. The London market is closed all day on Friday and Monday, while the New York market is closed only on Friday and operates half a day on Monday.
Despite the shortened trading period, coffee prices were still on an upward trend this week. The main reason was supply concerns due to lower-than-average rainfall in Brazil. In addition, a report from Cecafe showed that Brazil's green coffee exports in March fell sharply by 26% compared to the same period last year, reaching only 2.95 million bags. Coffee cooperative Cooxupe also said that high temperatures and low rainfall last month will negatively affect Brazil's coffee production this year.
Despite the Robusta harvest in Brazil and the upcoming Arabica harvest next month, global coffee prices have yet to fall, suggesting that current and potential future supply remains uncertain.
