Domestic coffee price list updated on the morning of June 7, 2025 |
Coffee prices have rebounded, rising sharply and hitting a one-week high after the Brazilian real rose to its highest level in more than seven months against the US dollar, triggering short covering by hedge funds in the coffee futures market, according to experts.
In addition, the stronger Real has also made Brazilian coffee producers less interested in selling to the export market.
The USD exchange rate continues to be under downward pressure in the international market, reflecting concerns about US economic growth, monetary policy and trade tensions. The market is still monitoring the ongoing harvest in Brazil. Information about output from this country has strongly affected world coffee prices recently.
While the improved Robusta supply outlook has put pressure on both Robusta and Arabica prices, the market is currently technically oversold and vulnerable to a rally driven by short-covering, traders said.
In Vietnam, the 2025–26 Robusta crop is developing well and is forecast to reach 31 million bags, up 6.8% from the current crop year. In the first 7 months of the 2024–25 crop year, Vietnam exported 14.82 million bags, accounting for about 47% of total global Robusta exports.
According to data from the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), each year Vietnam produces about 1 million bags of Arabica (equivalent to 60,000 tons), concentrated in key growing areas such as Lam Dong, Quang Tri, Son La and Dien Bien.
Notably, in the first four months of 2025, the proportion of Arabica in Vietnam's total coffee exports skyrocketed to 7.5%, nearly double the 4% share in the same period last year. Meanwhile, Robusta's market share dropped from 82% to 78%. This is considered a rare change in recent years, showing a positive shift in both volume and value of high-quality coffee.
