The market was also weighed down by falling crude oil prices, the dealer said.
“Oil prices fell sharply in Asian trade yesterday, erasing recent gains after the White House signaled that President Donald Trump would make a decision on whether to enter the Iran-Israel war in two weeks,” dealers told Bernama.
During the session, Brent crude oil price fell 1.9% to $77.35/barrel.
However, the decline in rubber prices was limited by optimism about China's stimulus measures and concerns about natural rubber supply due to weather instability in Thailand.
Meanwhile, rubber futures in Japan continued to fall as demand for the tire-making raw material in China slowed, overshadowing supply concerns due to unsettled weather.
On the demand side, tire companies' capacity is currently low due to high inventories and the low season, according to China's rubber sales portal Natural Rubber Network.
Capacity utilization rates at tire makers fell 10% this week from a year earlier, according to Chinese commodity data provider Longzhong Information. Car sales could weigh on auto production, which uses rubber tires.
