Chicken prices increase sharply, farmers promote herd restoration

Recently, the price of commercial chicken in Thai Nguyen has been increasing continuously, fluctuating from 80-90 thousand VND/kg, much higher than the level of over 60 thousand VND/kg in the first half of the year. This is a positive signal for farmers, many households are taking advantage of the opportunity to restore their flocks to supply the market at the end of the year.

Farmers in Tan Thanh commune have increased their herds since mid-August due to positive market signs.

Since the beginning of the year, the total output of fresh meat for slaughter in the province has reached an estimated 190,306 tons, of which poultry meat accounts for about 90,013 tons, mainly chicken. Commonly raised chicken breeds include semi-free-range colored-feather chickens and native chickens, meeting well the consumption needs of the people. Many households and chicken farms have been expanding their scale and improving production capacity.

At current prices, each kilogram of chicken sold brings farmers a significant profit, contributing to improving income and promoting herd restoration. Authorities forecast that poultry consumption demand will continue to increase in the last months of the year, opening up positive prospects for chicken farms in Thai Nguyen .
