AgriS Gia Lai will start sugarcane pressing season earlier than previous years.

Attending the conference were Dr. Cao Anh Duong - Director of the Vietnam Sugarcane Research Institute; leaders of communes in the raw material area and nearly 1,000 sugarcane growing households who have been associated with the Company for many years.

At the conference, a representative of AgriS Gia Lai Agricultural Joint Stock Company (AgriS Gia Lai) said: In the 2024-2025 crushing season, the average sugarcane yield in the Company's raw material area will reach 75 tons/ha, sugarcane output will reach over 1.1 million tons, higher than the 2023-2024 crushing season.

The conference commended sugarcane growers with many initiatives and applications of science and technology in sugarcane cultivation processes to achieve high productivity and quality in the 2024-2025 crop year.

One of the activities that attracts the participation of a large number of sugarcane growers is the Miss Sugarcane contest. Accordingly, farmers choose beautiful sugarcane plants to bring to the contest to share effective farming experiences that can be widely applied to develop sugarcane in a sustainable way.

Currently, AgriS Gia Lai's raw material area is up to 19,000 hectares, distributed in 16 communes and wards. Thanks to favorable weather, sugarcane grows well. The average sugarcane yield this year is expected to reach 78 tons/ha, an increase of 3 tons/ha compared to the 2024-2025 crushing season; sugarcane output is estimated at over 1.4 million tons, meeting the operating capacity of 8,000 tons/day.

To ensure the plan to purchase the entire sugarcane area in the raw material area, AgriS Gia Lai plans to implement the crushing season earlier than previous years.

At the conference, representatives of AgriS Gia Lai answered questions from sugarcane growers to ensure harmonious benefits for both parties. In particular, in the context of the sugar price trending down in the market, AgriS Gia Lai committed to purchasing sugarcane at the lowest insurance price of 1 million VND/ton of 10CCS sugarcane from this crushing season to the 2027-2028 crop year.
